  • I am inspired! I have been natural for over ten years and my hair is collarbone length. What i need to know is what SIZE were you two strand twists (assuming that is how you started) did you make them? I really need to SEE a video on that, can someone point me in the right direction?

  • Oh my goodness. And you started them yourself? They look so NICE! I'm about to start mine. Good job with yours. =)

  • u remind me of lauren hill u are gorgeous i love women with a natural style

  • I love this song!!

  • I agree with Curt a 105%

  • @Trying2Rip : ) ...update coming soon...

  • Hi there sis!! i just love your locs!! Mine are pretty much the same as yours, having about 245 locs in total. They are about 3 months old. I was just wondering how you dealt with build-up when you went a long while without washing, and what did you rinse with. I'd love any advice you can give!

  • WOW...solid pics luv!! im bout to start my journey this month!!

  • You have definitely inspired me! I was wondering.....i don't know if you've answered this question or not but how many locks do you have? I love your size. I have about 170 or so in my head. I'm only on month 4.

  • @willporsha I counted them the first day I started them...I had 300 even. I would say I have 280 now from joining some together over the years.

  • I love your hair! What tecnique did you use to start your locks?

  • love it !!!! i just started im on week 2 almost i have a longway to go

  • I love your hair. I wish I had your thickness.

  • ok..I'm going out on a limb here, cause I've never done anything like this. However, who are you and where did you come from. I find you so attractive it's ridiculous. Honestly, if you are single (highly doubt that :), still hoping), I'd like to get to know you. I can be reached @ musicb1@yahoo.com. I'm curious. We can start from there. You are so beautiful...you nubiandelicacy you. Oh my goodness. Please contact me either way. My name is Bryan. Thank you.

  • Like your locs

  • @nubiandelicacy hey am like 4 months my locks are thin i mean i kinda wanted dem that way,, but i get my hair style very often willl theat make my locks weakend quicker?

  • you and your locs gotit going on.

  • I like this video showin how your hair jus got long expecially while this song is playin i just what it over and over

  • your locs are gorgeous

  • YOU LIKE ONE OF THE MOST FINEST WOMEN I'VE SEEN WIT DREADS...DONT EVER CUT YO HAIR MA.....{YOSHI}

  • @curtis4350 yes sir I won't. Thank you.

  • How did you start them ?

Do you have a video that shows the process ?

  • @Princeszjay23 No I don't have a video for that. I started by just deciding what size locs I wanted and put in two-strand twists the same size. I waited 3 months to wash it. And then six months to do my first retwist. By then, your hair is really starting to loc. It was nothing to it.

  • @nubiandelicacy Oh ok this is really helpful because you have the exact size that i want, very beautiful : )

  • Love your hair, and you look beautiful! Considering you started and maintain your hair yourself it looks phenomenal! I started mine myself as well, and was concerned about how thin they were, but after seeing how fab urs look, I'm looking forward to them growing :) perhaps you can check out my vid and tell me if its up to par lol. Thank you so much nubiandelicacy!

  • @sjeanrich Thank you so much. I looked at your vids...and my locs are slightly smaller than yours. You shouldn't worry. As long as your don't over-twist your locs and keep it moisturized and conditioned you should be fine. Over the years you may have to join a couple very thin ones together but thats easy and if you do it right, its not even noticeable. Stick with it, they look great!

  • ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL LOCS!!!

  • great video.....nice look. I like the way you keep your dreads nice and neat. I also liked how you showed the diffrent ways that dreds could be worn. I do have 1 question how did you keep your roots looking so nice and neat ?

  • @goldmouf112 thank you...ummm this video is pretty old. My locs are almost never this neat now. I have gotten very, very lazy. But when I was keeping them neat, I just use a comb when I have to make sure all the parts are even and tie my hair EVERY night. It makes a difference. And also if you don't touch and play in your hair as much it looks neater, longer.

  • noticed that they r thin, so r mine, did u ever hav uh problem w/ breakage? ime in my 3rd month n kinda worried bout that now

  • @clee926 Yes I have had problems with breakage. I either start a new loc or marry my locs together. Its not a big deal, its gonna happen so just be prepared. But you're only in your 3rd month and already experiencing breakage you are doing something wrong. My locs didn't start breaking until year 4. Your locs are very young, and if you manipulate them too much before they are mature, they will break off or thin sooner.

  • Loooovvvve your hair! I am trying to figure out how to start my locs now. Did you start yours yourself? Would you recommend starting with 2-strand twists? Cuz I did some coils like a week ago, but they are already starting to look a little messy. How long did it take for your hair to actually lock?

  • @whitneyb22 Yes,i started them myself with two-strand twists like you said. I think its the best way. Or comb coils but those come out easy if they get wet or you perspire a lot. But either or should work fine. It took me about 6 months for my hair to loc completely. The coarser and curlier your hair the faster it will loc. Especially if you leave it alone. I didn't touch my hair for an entire school semester at college. I barely washed it. Before you knew it, I had a head full of locs! : )

  • Beautiful...You and Your Locs..

  • @TheGodxOfWar thank youuuu

  • BEAUTIFUL!!! You and your hair...stay blessed ; )

  • OMG your locs are BEAUTIFUL!!!! You have inspired me so much to go ahead and go through with the process!!! I already have a short hair cut and I can't wait until the rest of my perm grows out!!! Thanks for sharing

  • youre welcome. but did you know you can start your locs with the perm in. and cut all the dead ends later on. just a suggestion.

  • lol My Birthday is April 9th.. I cant wait to see how long mine are by My Bday.. about a month and a half to go..

  • @TheGodxOfWar post some videos, I would love to see it.

  • Its A True Journet and im only six months in..

  • 2wks into the locking process with comb coils. If I want my locks to be similar to your size, how would I be able to do that? I do not think I can handle 300 locks but I want mines to be small but not too small. Is there a way they can be "done over" if my hair hasnt begun to lock yet? Just asking. I really like your hair by the way. Thanks!

  • yea you can wash out the comb coils and start again. i started mines with just regular two stand twists but they were very tiny. your locs will thin out over time because of constant palm rolling so be sure not to make the parts too small or they will become weak and you will have to join some locs with others. (like i did: )

  • It's videos like this that give me the strength to go on...BEAUTIFUL, Simply beautiful!

  • Its a lifestyle that you must commit to, you can do it!

  • nice locs !!!

  • love the locs!

  • How exciting! I love your hair and I've decided that I'm ready to commit...thanks for sharing!

  • wow! congratulations, glad i could help.

  • 1:15 girl you looking so so sexy . But thats all day

  • BEAUTIFLLL GIRLFRIEND!!!! very fun and nicely made video!. I like how ur not afriad of color. I have 4 diff colors in my hair now. Ur locs are gorgeous and im glad ur enjoying them.

  • Thank you....im actually considering coloring them one more time, but imi scared because I have sensitive hair. Breakage could occur.

  • WAT PRODUCT DID U USE TO START EM??

  • jamaican mango and lime resistance locking creme wax.

  • jamaican mango & lime creme wax

  • Question: How did your dreads thicken out but at the roots they are skinny

  • Your locs will remain thick on the ends, if you or whoever does your hair, DOES NOT palm roll/twist the entire loc. Thats how they keep their thickness and shape. Only twist the new growth and let the rest do its thing!

  • Thanx. I am guy and i really like your hair and mine are short but getting there and i see a little thickness at the ends. By far you have the most nicest locs i have seen (mypreferenceSkinny).

  • Thanks. I like skinny too : )

  • beatiful lady.. i gotta question for u though ...did you use beeswax and what products did u use? i heard that using beeswax is not good

  • Thanks. No never beeswax. Check out my video update....I listed all the products I use on that video.

  • nice

  • I am totally jealous of your lovely thick locs they are so healthy and gorgeous! :)

    Peace!

  • Amen to that!

  • wow I love your locs. I'm 2 months in and sometimes feel like taking them out lol. I'm definitely referring back to your video for inspiration...

  • NOOOOOO! Please don't take them out. Just be patient and if you dont like the way it looks just try to find cute ways to cover them or something to adorn your locs.

    Thanks. Don't be a stranger.

  • beautiful locs.. my new inspiration!

  • This is what I'm doing. If I learn how to upkeep them.... man, uni will be no worries, and when I go broad it'll be no worries. Apart from getting my regular products

  • Its actually very easy to upkeep. You can do it!

  • I don't know how hair dressers in US are but here I can't find someone who does locs... (UK)..=[

  • You Go Girl!!! They look wonderful. I've just started my Loc journey on Tuesday. I'm so excited! :)

  • WOW tuesday. Well i wish you a very happy journey. Remember to be patient and as long as you think ya hair looks good thats all that matters. you cant let others comments discourage you from continuing in your Loc Journey.

    God Bless

  • your locs were so beautiful when they stopped at your neck! still watching though =]

  • Yea I know. I have considered them cutting back up to my neck but I think I'm going to wait until after the winter. Longer dreds keep the neck warm throughout the winter ; )

  • any1 ever tell u that u have very sexy lips cuz u do and great dreads their almost as beautiful as you

  • wow & wow. thanks sweetie.

  • damn...have u ever counted all ur dreads??

  • yes i counted them the first day i had them. I started with 300 exactly but since then i only have about 270 now from having to join some together or cut them off.

  • I almost gave up! You have inspired me to keep going.

  • so lovely

  • now, you've got swag miss nubiandelicacy, and it looks you're having an amazing journey. Keep up the good work.

    Take care.

  • beautiful hair...throughout the journey. thanks for sharing. your video is among the top few. love it!

  • What hair products do you use? You are glowing! Your locs are simply stunning.

  • By the far, one of the best hair journey's I've seen. Your locks are beautiful. As your locs began to grow longer, your face also began to glow. Please products you use, and your maintenance regime. Thanks.

  • how long have u been growin miss???

    ~1 love~

  • Since January 2006

  • I love this video! my locs will be 2 years old on july 7,2009. i love how you stress that if you believe your hair is fly ( even though it looks a hot mess!) then others will thoink its fly as well. that is what i did. you are truly a beautiful inspiration to us all. keep it up sis!

  • thank you. glad i could inspire you.

  • I was going to ask.. how did you get through the ugly phase? But from the looks of it you didn't have to!! That's great! Your locs are absolutely incredible! You inspire me..thank you!

  • lol...no trust me I had an ugly phase. My first semester of college is when i started my locs and I never groomed them until the end of the semester when i went back home. you can imagine how much of a hot mess my hair was looking. but you know what i did?...I made it fly! I would dress up, do my make-up, throw on some fly earriings & rock it! People started complimenting on my hair all the time even though i knew it was jacked up! lol. but if you act like its fly, everyone else agrees!

  • you have great locs . i have been natural since feb. i did the big chop. but my locs are only one month old they kept comming out. can you please help.

  • Go to a professional loctician(spelling). Also, are you trying to wash them too soon. I had sisterlocks, and in the beginning if I washed them I had to rubber band sections together and wash gently w/ a special shampoo/condish. Are you putting products in your hair? Are you constantly picking w/ them? There could be a number of reasons, you're best bet is to go to a professional in your area.

  • thanks.... well it depends on how you started them ( gel twists, two strand, braids, etc. ) Only thing I can tell you is if you are messing with them or washing them, stop! Leave them completely alone for the frist couple months. You can do a light rinse every now and then but no rough washing. No shampoo!

  • Your hair is gorgeous!!! I started locking in October of 2008. I didn't want my hair too short during the process so i have been putting braid over it. Now that it is hanging i will be leaving it out as of now. I hope you have more videos on youtube. i'm going to look right now!

  • Thanks! I loved my hair when it was shorter though. Now thats its longer Im thinking of trimming back up to the top of my ears. But i dont have anymore hair vids up. It would be awhile since I dont have a camera or computer any longer. But ill let you know. Just subscribe to my vids.

  • I just started my lock journey and i have 250 locks...Thanks so much I wanted to cut them off but you inspired me...Quick question how much thicker should i expect my hair to be in future?

  • Well because they are so small you shouldnt expect them to get too much bigger. My locs actually started getting fat after about 6 months and then they condensed back down with regular maintenence. So now all of mines are even from the root to the ends, except for the few that i have married together because of breakage. So if you are looking for them to get thicker, your best bet is to just marry them together because they wont fatten up anymore.

  • Your vid gives me hope for my hair! I started my locs the way as you did and they are the about the same size, but it's only been 8 months and they are still kinda springy and mushy. I was getting frustrated but now I'm excited b/c my hair looks just like yours in the early stages.

  • Thats great. I'm happy for you. Stick with it & you will love them more and more.

  • Gorgeous locs!! thanks so much for the vid. And my goal is that i didn't start them sooner either :-).

  • great

  • Hey sis your locs are absolutely gorgeous. especially 3:26-3:40 - WOW! Great job!

  • Thanks sis!

  • YOUR HAIR IS SO BEAUTIFUL

  • You are soooo pretty! I mean from complexion, smile to your lovely locs! Gurl, I love your slideshow and can't wait to see you do more vids when you can. In the meantime, keep on doing a fantabulous job with maintaining your locs b/c they are b-e-a-u-t-i-f-u-l !!

    ♪ kokofemme ♪

  • Oh how pretty! Did you start them with braids or coils?

  • thanks. I actually started with very tiny two strand twists. Me and my mom drew a grid pattern for my hair because i wanted them perfect and i started with exactly 300 two strand twists. Now I have about 270 locs from having to join some together.

  • very nice locs!

  • I luv ur locs! I wish i would have started mine sooner also.

  • WOW.....you really wear your locs well...they look absolutely stunning

  • Your locs look amazing!!!!!

    Just the size I'm getting.

  • thanks. yea this is the best size for people who will be doing a lot of styles but afterwhile they can become too thin if you aren't very careful. this is my third time having locs this small. And After this year, I might be cutting these off and starting again. Depending on if they thin out anymore by the end of the year.

  • You know they can be combed out if you wanna keep the length.

  • yea i know. but i dont mind the starting out phase like most ppl. and who about to sit there and comb these suckas out? surely not I! lol

  • Your locs look great!!! What method do you use to maintain?

  • Thank you. I have always used the palm rolling techinique for the majority of the life of my locs but I also tried the latching method. I personally think latching lasts longer and it holds the tightness better. I would suggest latching during the summer if you swim a lot that way you can still keep your roots tight. But i think it takes wayyyy too long to latch when they are this small. So its best to go to a professional or just stick to the palm rolling.

  • That was beautiful. Your hair looks very good. You have sexy lips too.

  • Well thank you Keem.
