Amazing how you can hear every instrument despite all the moving around. I love that they keep up the speed while keeping the melody intact. The harmonies are great too. Think I'll download the song off iTunes now!
I disagree with the comments that current Cherryholmes is worse than old Cherryholmes. If anything I think their sound is becoming even more unique and mature. And if you think bluegrass is supposed to be "covered up" and lady like, we're listening to different blue grass.
I have to agree Poneutria. This is the Cherryholmes that was truly unique and real. I saw them perform in Houston the other night, and though they are incredible showmen and masters on their instruments, they have lost the sound they once had that was positively "Cherryholmes"
thanks for puttin this up americanamama. I'm in Glasgow, Scotland and can't wait to see them at Cambridge folk festival this summer (that's in England but ya gotta pay the piper somehow). This is the first time I've heard them, they are outstanding.

I saw this band by accident in 2004. I was living in Ohio and they were at the local camp just up the street. Now they have some contract with big music label and a killer schedule. The only problem is I can see the toll it is taking on their health.
They ought to get off the road before it kills them. They don't need to become another statistic.
Hi Ian..was ther too!..they stole the show for me...especially Cia on banjo!!..remember to see the coverage of that night..tune into bbc2 on Feb 17th.
I agree, they really got it goin for em. As Del McCoury said, "kin folks think alike. Almost like they can read each other's minds. They all the same kinda vibe and the same drive, goes real well in a band."
Never been a bluegrass fan in my life - until now! I can't quite think of the words to describe this group. Stupendous! - This song is gorgeous, and the 3rd time through the chorus when they get to "...trouble my mind..." - those gal's harmony just sends shivers down my spine. Wow! Wow! and Wow!
These people are one of my favorite groups. But they shift around to the mikes way too much. They need to stay in one place and let the ensemble work. The movement and shifting is distracting. And, I agree, the mam has to calm the heck down.
what banjo are you playing? / sound real good.

I wish they had stuck to this instead of selling their souls to the records companies.

lol, I find it so much easier to sing on a condenser mic. That way I can actually hear every one else! Anyways, these guys are great.

it's considered old school to use one central mike. Great ability is required to do those harmonies like that.

Molly always gets thrown off to the side :(.
My great uncle Dwight has known them personally for like 9 years, and played music with them for quite a bit of that time.
Someone needs to put up a video of BJ playing the Orange Blossom Special; he's astounding.
