No need to recall him, Delay resigned from Congress after he was indicted for illegal use of campaign contributions, but according to him that's also the fault of the liberal media and the Democrats, even though the prosecutor who indicted him has gone after Democrats as well as Republicans. "Blame the liberals and the media" has always worked for him in the past, so it's no surprise he's sticking with it now.

The word in German for what Delay is doing is: "Dolchstosslegende". Hitler and the German army blamed leftists and the jews for losing WWI. Same rethoric being repeated here.

Thanks for bringing this up. The analogy is chilling: a catastrophic war started for bogus reasons, conducted with extreme incompetence, after which the people most responsible for the disaster blame the liberals (and the Jews). Hitler would never have come to power if German conservatives hadn't been so persuasive about how the German army had been "stabbed in the back."
