It's interesting to note that the biggest opponents of Dr. Kevorkian were the Christian right. Yet despite the tenets of compassion and love the Christian belief system is built on, they demonstrated nothing of the sort. I would characterize their behavior more as sadistic and cruel. Dr. Kevorkian on the other hand expressed nothing but compassion for those who sought his help. If there was ever any evidence how religion impedes our social development, well here it is!
