z1000s are bigger CC bikes but dont accelerate and have as high top speeds as the supersport bikes coz they are designed for torque. however 250 isnt a must im a bigger rider at 6'5" and 200lbs so a 250 would be ridiculous for me actually a gixxer 600 was my first bike and as long as you take it slow you'll do fine as long as you dont get a busa or a ZX14 or the like coz they are very unforgiving

bottom line is bikes are way better then cars. A $1/2 million lamborghini will still not beat any $15,000 liter bike. A lamborghini murcielago has a power to weight of 1:6. My 2007 gixxer 1000 has a power to weight of 1:2. Two most important things when you want to go fast is as much power and as little weight. The only real down side to bikes is even tho they look aerodynamic they realy arent and cars are.

Generally speaking 600s are considered best because their power is easier to handle. The 1 liter bikes are awesome but are much faster and therefore more dangerous for new riders.
