Its more of how it is being presented. For example FF 13 great grapichs good battle system but it dident really feel like a final fantasy game. It felt like eye candy but i let that slide because the cut senes were in a way worth it.

To be blunt iv'e played some linear games in my live but dam O.O.... you have no real controle over your party till late in the game and at the point your mostly so set on useing a type of team to the that you almost no longer care to formulate a new team . and because its super linear traning has now become somewhat of a chor so it kinda style related.
