The best thing about YouTube is that you meet many of the authors and so called scholars. I only wish I had found this video 2 years ago -it would have saved me $25.99 as I wouldn't have bought his book "Jesus, interrupted". The book is descriptive but the author alternatively uses, misues and ignores the basic concepts of the two natures displayed by Jesus and that the whole point of religion is to uphold a few moral ideals.Rather he rejoices at finding the discrepancies in the trivial

Accusing Bart Ehrman of lying, i.e. the spreading of falsehoods with the intent to deceive, is a rather bold claim. So it would be appropriate as a matter of course to prove your claim, and not at some point, but right after the claim being made - *if* you can prove it. But you can prove it, can you? Bart was a pseudo-Born again Christian, and this is shown in his conversion to agnosticism and atheism. The Holy Spirit does not lead His people away from the faith, as Bart has clearly gone.

Excellent interview. But I get the sense that Professor Ehrman -- and theologians in general-- too often overlook the particular historical factors that lead to suffering. Thanks, Harry, for pointing out that it was the U.S. bombing of Cambodia that set the whole thing (i.e., the genocidal policies of the Khmer Rouge) in motion.
