He is a lot tongue in cheek! A very funny guy who plays around with cultural stereotypes to keep things humorous but make no mistake - this guy is a beast. The strength test for master of sport in kettlebells is unreal. He is a great teacher and motivator and knows reams of info on sport physiology and training. He is awesome.
Pavel, just use his great knowlegdes about streching and strenght training and made that a way of living. Dont think he is more expensive than other personal trainers of his level.
He is popular because it works and his way of teaching is straight forward and with a sense of humor (mutant).
I got ride of my back pain with kettlebells and can almost do full side split as 34 y old....worth every penny
The stretches shown are pretty similar to those you would find in any pre-professional ballet school (oversplits), and, as everyone, knows the Russian ballet schools are THE best in the world. Their students used to be hand picked, but I don't know how students are selected there these days. It's definitely true that one must relax in order to stretch effectively. The part about becoming a mutant - hysterical! How can you not love this guy.
He's been living in the US for a long time, and he does force his voice quite a bit in these videos. But he is in fact russian, he was once an instructor for the Spetsnaz.
I wish he was naked...

He seems to be carrying "loaded" or "weightlifter's" stretches to an extreme level of performance.
