  • a spectacular film based on a spectacular play with spectacular performances from all four of them, especially taylor!!!

  • Haha! Liz is coming straight from the hood! I love how she gets him angry then he smashes the bottle and she dont even flinch! Great acting! :)

  • @RichardElden Let me spare you the trouble, little troll boy. On this specific thread, you will never have the final word. Never.

  • @RichardElden If you're gonna be a troll, at least come up with some original ways of displaying how much of a fucking retard you are.

  • I've seen many versions of this scene and none of them hold a candle to Liz's acting...

  • @RichardElden Obviously an idiot.

  • @RichardElden Here's hoping it does not happen to you.

  • @RichardElden I see you like displaying your ignorance in public.

  • This film was such a jaw-dropper for me, wonderful story and incredible performances.

  • Wow she was powerful of an actress. I will miss her.

  • yeah a bunch of angry, self-absorbed people yelling at each other for a few hours. what a wonderful story. geez who cares

  • This is so Fucking Incredible Film! Perfection!

  • That is Theater acting on video!!!

Wish we could see more of that!!!

  • Ah now that, ladies and gentlemen, is acting.

  • Movies now need THESE kind of arguing scenes. There isn't films now that grab you like this.

  • cinema has lost a lot by losing its connection with theater.

  • 7 people wanted Miley Cyrus to win the Oscar for The Last Song.

  • That depends are you TRICk or TREATING?

  • @Waszma Geeezz.. I wish you straight men could deal with a bit of teasing without starting to fantasizing about some violent retribution... Thought of the day: how about hitting back just with words?

  • @phyrrusvox Who said anything about hitting? ; )

  • @Waszma Ok, but it always feel like if a woman gets bossy and unpleasant men can't handle it very well and first thing they think is about ass raping or something of that kind... Unfortunately there are a lot of bossy and unpleasant men, but women just put up with it!

  • @phyrrusvox OK...can we settle on a "verbal ass raping"?

  • @RichardElden Well, that's your opinion.

  • What a good movie I read the play first and could follow along exactly, plus it made me realize how talented you have to be, to be an actor, they really brought the words to life

  • The whole cast was brilliant and as much as I love Elizabeth Taylor in this role, Sandy Dennis practically stole the film. I'm happy they both received recognition, though.

  • Chastise that woman, rain blows and assault that wench until she finds a job or moves her stuff to the curb. No respect.

  • Roger and Francine were better.

  • I wonder what i would get if I went trick or treating to their house?!?!?!

  • @Sloth55Chunk You'd get the 'ol umbrella-shotgun ;)

  • @Sloth55Chunk a good stiff drink

  • This is where most marriages end up. Beware newlyweds. This is what love really is, in spite of all appearances. The sweetest words in the english language aren't "I love you", but rather "I'm sure you'll fuck that up too", or "I'll get it, your royal fucking highness".

  • I always thought this was the REAL Liz Taylor in real life --- strong, fighting, feisty, yelling, passionate.

Was she acting here? Or was it really her as she really was in daily life?

Superb acting by Liz and Richard. Full of guts and feeling.

  • @cheeriosinabowl from what I understand, Liz Taylor was a sweetheart....but idk I read it on wikipedia just look her up...

  • @cheeriosinabowl Mike Nichols said he never saw her be unkind to a single person and treated everyone equally nice. But I'm sure she and Richard Burton had their drunken fights and passion. But I don't think Taylor was as obnoxious or cold as this person in the film is. It's just great acting. She was good when she was with a great director she could trust.

  • liz taylor looks so different :O she usually had brown hair

  • Intense...

  • I actually knew a lady named Mrs Wolf who was just like this..scary

  • @RichardElden lol hollllay settle down XD

  • @RichardElden Look who made another unwanted appearance to unload more dung on the amazing Taylor/Burton duo..."RichardElden"...a useless tub of brainless goo.

  • Its sad how death contribute to the sudden popularity...Queen deserves much more.... RIP

  • I'll take the Associate Professors salary and not waist booze either.

  • @Nieves57 I'm Full Prof. and sadly she was/is correct. With the cuts in education there will be lot more women saying those lines. Regardless what a great movie. Liz was and Dick were a good team.

  • @motownfan5 You're right.

  • Elizabeth did the damn thang in this one!!! This is one of the greatest performances from an actress ever in the history of cinema and film!

  • We lost a legend

    RIP Elizabeth Taylor.

  • @ richardelden, obviously, there is something wrong with you, either jealousy or mental illness of some sort.

  • Love you much Elizabeth, love you much

    R I P Lovely Liz

  • # 1 favorite film ever! Long Liv Liz!!!

  • RIP Beautiful wonderfully talented Elizabeth. No one compares to you.

  • One of my favorite movies ever. The acting of all four--Taylor, Burton, Segal, and Dennis--was incredible! This was a real pivotal movie in Hollywood, perhaps the first movie where a beuatiful superstar played a dark character, wicked and unkept and anyting but glamorous. RIP Dame Taylor. You were not only a superstar in Hollywood, but an angel in your work for AIDS research. The world is a lesser place without you in it.

  • @RichardElden, Elizabeth Taylor was 33 when this was filmed and gained weight for this role and was aged to look 20 yrs older. THIS WAS FILMED IN THE MID SIXTIES. I had the pleasure of meeting Ms Taylor in the early 90's and she was beautiful and very very nice.,unlike you.

  • IF YOU CAN'T SAY SOMETHING NICE ABOUT ELIZABETH....DON'T SAY ANYTHING AT ALL. SHE DEVOTED HER AFTER-CAREER LIFE TO HELPING OTHERS SUFFERING WITH A DEADLY DISEASE. THAT, IN MY OPINION, DESERVES A PURPLE HEART!...NOT RIDICULE.

  • @RichardElden Much like you will be at 70....that is if you live that long.

  • What intrigued me most about Taylor was the way she always maintained, for her sex outside of marriage was wrong, so she always married the men she loved. Also for some one who oozed sex appeal and was so feminine and voluptuous, she also drank like a fish, cursed like a sailor and rolled the floor with Burton on many an occasion. So I think she was was woman of great passion and contradictions. Love this film and have seen it numerous times.

  • When she did this movie, she put on weight and. Was made to look older for this part. Elizabeth Taylor was in her mid 30's when she did this and was the most beautiful woman in the world. This is true acting

  • @RichardElden So is your mom.

  • "you can't afford to waste good liquor!"

  • this is my stepmom and a few ex girlfriend s

  • We lost another superstar :((

  • Good bye Liz, hope the 'people' up there won't bother you so much for your autograph

  • They don't make actresses like her any more

  • I love the juxtaposition of levels of intoxication in this scene!

  • My God!!!..i really think i would be in prison if i was married to her...Jesus Christ!!!!

  • I hope that was an empty bottle George...

You can't afford to waste good liquor!

    Not on your salary!

Not on an associate professors' salary!

  • my god she's AMAZING!!!

  • She was always my favorite that's why I wrote a song about her check it our here

  • She was always my favorite that's why I wrote a song about her

  • did she root ?

  • Vale Elizabeth. One of the greatest cinema performances ever.

  • I don't know why but I somehow like the way she says "Getting angry baby? huh?" I guess it is just Liz's talent keeping my attention. She will be missed!

  • @LostAngelesTV

Really? Do you know many people who broke bottles?

  • Taylor and Burton at their utter best- bravo! RIP Liz, I loved you so much!!

  • Lord am I going to miss Elizabeth Taylor.

She earned that damn Oscar with this role!

  • This is acting at it very best ,Taylor and Burton are the best in my opinion

  • I'm afraid of Virgina Woolf Rest in Peace Elizabeth

  • Brilliant! Rest in peace Dame Elizabeth!

  • She's the last of the great ones. As I get older all those grand dames I watched on my black and white tele as a child are dying off. The only actress of greatness today is Meryl Streep in my humble opinion. The bygone era of Hollywood with the good and the bad is forever gone with the passing of Ms. Elizabeth Taylor.

    R.I.P. Ms. Taylor I'm forever a fan.

  • The last symbol of Hollywood's Golden Age....RIP Miss Taylor.

  • @soulgirl66 what about Kirk Douglas, Lauren Bacall and Olivia de Havilland? :)

  • @vocm10 I agree, but doesn't it just put a lump in your gut when you think of Elizabeth Taylor...gone? I just found out when I was getting ready to go to sleep and heard it on the radio. Just had to get up and go download a couple of her movies to watch. Olivia is one of my favorites too. I hope I live to be 79. So many see Liz as old, but she was still in her 40's in the 80's. RIP Liz, and say hi to PI

  • @vocm10

Hell yes. And not to mention Eli Wallach, Mickey Rooney, Luise Rainer, Joan Fontaine, AND Maureen O'Hara.

Still, very sad that she's died. I was born a long time after she stopped making movies, but I felt quite hollow when I heard she was dead. RIP ELIZABETH TAYLOR.

  • @vocm10 Thank god they are still around, and Joan Fontaine !! Olivia's oscar winning sister !

  • @vocm10 Yes, you have a point. There are still some from that era who are still with us, but Ms. Taylor is such an icon from that time. Sad that this era is slowly fading away, but they left such a great body of work behind.

  • @vocm10 Don Cheadle and Kimberely Elise. Enuff said.

  • In my opinion. One of the best performances EVER in the history of film.

    Thank you Liz.

  • I can't take this clip seriously when I see those kid's reaction to the guy breaking the bottle.

  • This is what we need to remember about Elizabeth Taylor...that she was a great actress. Not Michael Jackson or all of her husbands or any of that, but the fact that she was a master of her craft, as she more than demonstrated in this film. A brilliant performance by a fine actress. Thanks to her for leaving this behind.

  • Good bye Elizabeth, you were one of the greats. And there are so few left now. RIP

  • What a triumph this film was for Taylor (and for everyone else involved with it).

  • She was brillant in this movie Liz could certaintly act. A great actress may she RIP.

  • Great acting....elizabeth was the best...RIP

  • RIP ET RB

  • Best movie of hers EVER! Would someone please post her Oscar Acceptance for this from 1967??

  • omg...i want to cry. it was this movie and it was this performance that inspired me to do acting years ago, and now as a professional I still unconsciously follow in her footsteps. Without knowing who she was, I just knew, if i was an artist... I would want to be an artist like HER. Your legacy is immortal, Elizabeth Taylor.

  • correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't that the dude from THE A-TEAM ?

j/k great performance by Liz~ check this film if you've not seen it !!

  • what a spectacular performance, what an amazing actress. r.i.p

  • Damn! One. Mo-fo. Great. Actress.

  • epic. RIP liz.

  • I never cared much for Dame Taylor, but this is one of my favorite movies ... I always figured that one day I'll hear this monologue myself!

  • Good bye, Martha. x

  • Hooray... fake female egomania.

  • R.I.P Liz Taylor

  • Elizabeth Taylor…truly one of the most beautiful women to ever grace the silver screen. I was born the same year as her, and this allowed me to follow her career from the start. Despite some of her personal problems, I never allowed it to change my opinion of her. A classic beauty and a great actress!.

  • Liz Taylor I will miss you,Beauty women in ouer World,I'm only happy that I'm born in February like you was...I,m sad today..just stay in peace RIP....M

  • Noooooo, why she? Liz, Taylor, rest in peace. ;-(

  • Loved the lady. R.I.P. Liz.

  • RIP !

  • RIP Elizabeth Taylor

  • R.I.P Elizabeth Taylor. She's with Richard Burton now, I'm not 100% sure that is a good thing, but I'm going to say it is to give my self peace at mind.

  • Oh my god, Liz Taylor died!

  • I'd love to make what an associate professor does.

  • Goodbye, Liz. Thanks for all these good movies, especially this one, my true favourite.

  • One of her best. R.I.P. Dame Elizabeth Taylor. The likes of you shall not be seen again.

  • RIP Liz x

  • R I P.Elizabeth..we love you....x

  • WOW,WOW,WOW!

  • this is my favorite black and white movie

  • NARCISSIST

  • full blown narcissists! she's a perfect example of a horrible mother or wife

  • Wow ! thats real acting.

  • star quality. period

  • It's funny how an actor can both totally deserve one Oscar and not deserve the other one. I thought Butterfield 8 was okay but she didn't deserve the Oscar. However, in this movie, what a performance.

  • The perfect antidote for all this nonstop Valentine's Day gush :-P

"Sex is only dirty if you don't take a bath first" Red Fox

  • HE WASTED LIQUOR...

    BLASPHEMY!

  • @felixjung if you haven't seen them yet be sure to check out ET in 'Cat on a Hot Tin Roof' and 'Suddenly Last Summer', both adaptations from Tennessee Williams plays.

  • Taylor's best acting bar none

  • "a great big fat FLOP!" whooh, she really rips into him there.....LOVE IT!! Love liz :)

  • the way she says "getting angry baby" is pretty erotic.

  • @JuanMacready Dude, it's been at least 9 months since you've begun spamming this video with your distasteful comments. And it's been over 40 years since this movie premiered. Get over yourself!

  • Who's Afraid of Virgina Woolf? Marriage counselors, the Catholic Church, priests, old fashioned parents, in 1966, the MPAA, etc. etc.... the list goes on and on.

  • This is acting at it's finest. The chemistry is magical and so are the camera angles.

  • So great. I hated her character when I first saw the film, then at the epiphany at the end, I reversed. What writing.

  • Her best turn! Thank you for posting this gem!!!

  • now this is oscar-worthy. that shit they have in theaters now isn't.

  • @bhalle66 yes, today Hollywood is Total Shit. Agreed.

  • If you love elizabeth as much as me look her even in this video "The Sting" winning Best Picture.

  • Owls enjoy mice, rats, grubs, seed, worms, slugs & other tasty treats.

  • Great, but I wish I could've seen the 2 actors originally considered for the George and Martha film roles: Henry Fonda and Betty Davis.

  • @doncoyote94 Yes, both Burton and Taylor were too young and not at all believable.
