I have a Hobbico Twinstar and it is running O.S. .30 fourstrokes. I also have the twinsynce with the glowdrivers. I have a vid on here but it was before the twinsync was added. I have made 7 1 engine landings with the twinstar with no problems. Its a great twin engine trainer as it is my first.
Twin-Sync it is! I was going to go with dual glow-plug drivers, but even then that is no promise ya won't have a flame-out... Again, Thank you! Your video gave me the confidense to build another one, even though just the thought of another high-speed fly-by with the DA makes my knees shake... (-:
Well this plane flies great and been great with the os engines so far. I think the twin sync also has on board glow driver option as well. but it should be a fun plane i enjoy mine.
Great job flying! What's the CG set at? It looks like it balanced perfect. I built mine as a tail-dragger and it flew (past tense) great too, but flying twins really IS a steep learning curve. Engine out = crash for me. Time for another one this winter!
Thanks alot : ) and i went with the middle of what th manual called for and it worked out fine. i can remember right now. yeah they have there own little problems. theres a electronic control aout there called twin synch that takes alot of the twin fears away, im gonna get it for mine. But engine out, it handles for you : ) and keeps em synched at rpm to
would you recomend this plane for some one considering getting a twin engine plane? what issues if any have you had with it? thanks for answering. Fly High!
Yes i would. This is my only twin and i enjoy playing it very much. it flies very well. I only wish i had put a twin sync on it when i was building it. Just in case, i plan on adding that. i have had no engine problems but they can be disastrous if your not ready with a twin. No issues. its a very fun plane and looks good to. And as asked below if i do go with the twin synch i will prob get the onboard glow also. Good luck im sure you would be very happy with one.
I am still getting used to some things with flying so please excuse my ignorance, but what is a twin sync? and or where can I learn about it? thanks again.
Sorry never notice this comment hope you found out by now but just google it a dyou will find it if you havnt. It takes most all the enegine fear away with a twin bit monitoring them and keeping them close in rpm, and handles a engine out before you can notice.
I love twins thais is real sweet. I flew one once . It wasnt mine the owner loved to build but couldnt fly and he loved watching me fly it. I got out of the hobie for a while but now this is something I want. Great job 5 stars
