  • In the loft yes, and in hearts...

  • 30 some years later, this song still rocks my world!

  • I bought this LP in 1978 - it's in the loft now - but not forgotten.

  • as British as you can ever get, Manchester 1978 and way ahead of their time

  • as British as you can ever get, Manchester 1978

  • It has such a strong british sounding. I know that it's not from Britain.

  • I love the peter murphy cover of this but the original claims rein.

  • i first heard of these guys through Al Jourgensen (Ministry) stating them as an influence and covering this song, awesome group

  • That guitar looks like a Yamaha SG - probably a 2000 - nice

  • @philipm06 It's a 1000

  • Bought this when it first came out - stand the test of time

  • a classic

  • aaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh yyyyyyyeeeeeeessssssssssss!

  • this is amazing

  • that bass makes me tingle in tingly places!

  • @ Elektrapunk2 : Damn right, my friend. I think it's very nice Ministry and Nine Inch Nails cover this song, but really, COME ON! This recording is the definitive version of simply one of the most exhilarating rock songs ever. Listening to this cut just cranks me up (in the best possible way!). Ya know, Magazine (when John McGeoch was in the band) used to open their shows with this number, and if you weren't riveted on the spot by that, you must have been half dead. Great band. Great song

  • The guitar is sublime. Prefer this to the Murphy cover (and I love Peter's music to bits).

  • Man this IS music! wish X factor would just go away and die already.

  • This is excellent. Obviously, the original. but... well... you purists are gonna hate me, but... i still like Peter Murphy's best!

  • John McGeoch, guitar hero - R.I.P.

  • i <3 this song...great vid thx

  • Saw them live in 78 & it was like a relig experience.

  • pondscum77, I love your videos!

  • one of the best bass intros ever

  • there was once a vid to this, shown on the whistle test.

  • I'm finally discovering Magazine (taken me 20 years!) - I love it!

  • Self-EVIDENCE in perfection ! thank you MAGAZINE for this masterpiece ! and MAGAZINE are NOT singing/playing about themselves. Great stuff, really !

  • @MrCactusWiZaRd

    Your comment is.

  • goes well with the awaydays ost

  • agree'd

  • Elektrapunk....you are an idiot. This band was great for there time, but come on man, Trent Reznor is amazingly talented. I dont understand why you feel the need to "hate," besides, no one fucking cares about your criticisms!

  • Ashley Brooks from Oswaldtwistle, should you ever view this video...Thank you very much for introducing this track and MANY others that opened up my eyes to another aspect of music...Ash...YOU ARE A STAR!

  • NIN couldnt walk down the same street as this band. Bow down NIN to the Mighty Magazine!

  • High energy yet kinda laid back @ the same time. Gre@ song and still wearing well.

  • would be a great NIN cover

  • sounds like the song thats goes "rock and roll HEY rock and roll". can anyone else that.

    sounds creepy but cool

  • I think you are referring to "Rock n'[and?] Roll" by the MC5 [?].

That song they often play at American sporting events (college and pro).

Yes, I do see the *exact parallel note sequence* in a certain spot...and yet the songs are very different vibes (to me).

I really like this song, "The Light Pours Out Of Me" by Magazine.

I've heard the ministry cover; I like it (I'm a ministry fan), but I'd really like to hear Peter Murphy's version of the song; hopefully someone'll post it :)

  • Actually, it wasn't the MC5, it was Gary Glitter

  • Yeah, I noticed that. I think it's a coincidence.

  • Great!

  • A truly great song

  • Magic.

  • @chelecossais LOL took this band rollerblading after they performed in Barbarellas in 79

  • @TheKathy4672 pmsl///////me and Les too
