i have pretty much the same setup. i have an old practice pad with the destroyer pedal hitting that. mine doesnt have the plastic on it to make it snap, mine sounds more like a regular bass. and since for REALLY fast stuff or if my leg cramps up i do a heel, then a toe for a quick snap, mine sounds awesome.
