All of kicks are compassos. Rabo de arraia is an angola kick much like compasso; except your toes are pointed toward the floor. it is a side of foot strike not a heel strike like a compasso. he also has no intention behind his kick; its too high
@SeamusHarper1234 "Rabo de arraia" is a generic name that used to mean about 10 different capoeira kicks; the rotating heel kick with both hands on the floor among others.
In Regional, this kick (both hands on the ground) was re-named to "meia lua de compasso" because of religious connotations of the name 'Rabo de arraia'. So in this context, both names refered to the same kick. Later in regional, they started to lift one or both hands in their 'MLDCompassos'.

@eyesofanangel333 A kick that has toes pointed towards the floor = stupid kick. All variants of this kicks hit with the heel.

"Meia Lua de Compasso is NOT the same as Rabo de arraia."
The only snag is that different groups use the names to refer to different kicks. So they may as well be the same...

Meia Lua de Compasso is NOT the same as Rabo de arraia.
He does 2 Meia Luas (with his hand on the ground) and then 2 Rabo de arraia (without hands on the ground)

@q0x "Rabo de arraia" is pretty overused name; it can mean "meia lua de compasso" among others. See my other post for more elaborate discussion.
