I have a Cricut Personal that I bought about a month ago. It will not cut through the card stock. I've played with the blade depth, the speed and the presser and even went out and bought a deep cutting blade and housing thinking that maybe that's what it was. Do you have any idea what I'm doing wrong? I know it has to be something I'm doing wrong since I've heard so many good things about the system. I bought my machine at Michael's and no-one there seems to know anything about the machine.

I have one that will cut up to 6 inches, so why wont it cut the letter "f" and "j" that are 6 inches?

Apparently, there is software for about $80 that you can hook up with your cricut and download any image you want from the internet or wherever. I'm just not sure what it's called.

Design Studio does not allow you to download anything...you have to use the cartridges.

Tho' they say that it voids the warranty on the Cricut. How would they know?? Google it - it's out there and the Cricut Guru at my local craft store LOVES it. :O)

its called _sure cuts alot_ and is easily found on ebay, not in any store i found. it uses svg files(scalable vector graphic) with some good time spent searching, i found a few sites with 1,000's of images. i made a cd of abot 450 images i liked and thought would work easily with the cricut expression.

Is the Cricut Expression the best Cricut available?

Are there any similar machines that can be programmed from a PC to cut whatever you want without having to buy pre-made cartridges?

Yes the Expression is the Best of the Cricut fleet. As it can cut paper up to 12" by 24" and has many great inbuilt features, the Cricut Create has the features of the expression but cuts 6" by 12" paper and the Cricut original also cuts 6" by 12" paper but doesn't have the same inbuilt features. Other types of personal electronic cutters are on the market but they do not have range of detailed fonts that the Cricut range has.
