The US government knows this but don't know exactly who they can trust. All the same, they are quietly trying to take this entity apart without causing too much craziness in the religious communities who believe Israelis can do no wrong and the Creator is with them, which is furthest from the truth.

This is an interesting connection, I feel that this story in fact has several connections like this, because all of these "agencies" have been using the same creations and betting on the same horse. I get the feeling that the father's involvement may have been that he was being coerced into "working" with various agencies via his son, who is reputed as being " a really well behaved young man, who was very focused upon his studies.." Isn't it out of character to being drugged, burning his pants?
