...Michael, don't take the ball out of bounds. Brian, YOU take the ball out of bounds. Get to half court [p.t. Dennis Rodman]. Get to half court [p.t. to Toni Kukoc]. Gotta bring the ball up the way you're s'posed to. [Michael Jordan interjection: Let's go man, straight up] That bullshit'll cost you points right there. Now get yourself disciplined out there--you guys are a new group together. Start getting disciplined as a basketball team right now. [AT&T mic fades out] Classic
@tjhunt1976 Actually, I don't think so. I just got a bunch of dubious error messages before I was able to post my comment. Can you upload the game from the 80s when the Lakers held the Bulls to six first-quarter points? (I'm thinking it was either the '85-86 or '86-87 regular season...)
@redskins2k Be that as it may, this was Michael Jordan's fault. He took the ball out of the basket and out of bounds. Kukoc even glared at MJ in mild disbelief at 0:49.
@drumass666 Yeah you're right. Williams was actually walking out of bounds so he could take it out, and MJ got confused and passed it to him instead, which is why Williams lost his balance and almost fell out (he wasn't expecting the ball). A lot of miscommunication.
@boredfun91 For a communication breakdown, it was still impressive. Phil Jackson was probably pissed off at a combination of things: the non-call on Gheorghe Muresan's hand on the back of Toni Kukoc, Calbert Cheaney catching the Bulls defense asleep on the ensuing out-of-bounds play, and then the faulty press-break. Sometimes, even the professionals forget that running the baseline or passing the ball out-of-bounds behind the baseline is allowed after a made basket.
@drumass666 I think even fans forget those things as well, because you so very rarely see them happen (i.e. a player running along the baseline, or two players exchanging passes while standing on the baseline).
, Phil Jackson and zen was media hyped, he is the son of a minister, after games they say the lords prayer, He is a deep believer in God. He uses zen rituals to keep his team calm. However, even monks get mad. Phil is he best ever because his teams usually never break down like they vs dallas. They are the ones doing the breakdowns
it is the media hype about the 'zen' thing for phil. i have seen him losing himself during the first 3 peat numerous times and they were even more aggressive than how he did to gasol.
well, so much for all that 'zen' bullcrap phil he talks about! not much unlike what he did to pau gasol the other week. lol... some things never change.

also brian williams was much like Gasol, one of those deep thinkers who is hard to coach.
