  • I LOVE THIS SONG !!!!!!!!!!!!

  • buena

  • 'Trial by Fire' and 'raised by Radio' are my favourite albums. This should've have been in an 80s teen movie.

  • That voice so unique!

  • No Steve Perry equals no Journey for me. Some ingredients just can't be removed from the recipe and it still be considered the same dish. Journey without Steve is nothing more than a cover band.

  • @syr74 - Its great that you are a HUGE fan like that, but you have to consider, Journey was around before Steve Perry. I am a Journey fan, meaning I like all phases of Journey. Pre-Perry, Perry, Augeri, and the new guy.

  • @aems24 I owned the pre-Steve Perry Journey albums. In fact, I've owned them all with the exception of the post Steve Perry stuff. The simply truth? There are extremely talented folks in Journey other than Perry, but as a band they were absolutely terrible before Steve Perry joined. The combination of several factors, including Perry, made Journey a super group. And if that golden era isn't what they are trying to recapture then why two Perry sound-alikes as front-men in less than a decade?

  • Does anyone know if Steve wrote this song for his ex girlfiend, Sherrie?

  • Wonderful voice!!!

  • This is what i think to be journeys best album ever....all songs are just right...(^_^)

  • @enidlaria I agree I mean I like pretty much all of the Perry Era stuff but Trial By Fire is I think their best album with him. I especially like his voice in this one he didn't go as high on these songs like in previous albums it wouldn't have worked if he had done that. This is definately my favorite song off that album too :)

  • @rockofhysteria Still she cries iss nice too!! Hell all of their songs are beautifull!! Greetings!

  • @rockofhysteria He didn't go as high in these songs because his voice had changed with age...it was by neccesity...he is one of the greatest male vocalists of all time...but what did they do with trial by fire?...they cranked out a masterpiece with Perry singing in a lower range....and damn right it worked...because Perry's voice is a work of art in any vocal range

  • @islapilluminati I'm not disputing that dude lol I'm just saying I think it's a better album because of the lower range

  • I Love ALL of Steve's songs... no one sings like him! ~~ JOURNEYGAL 4EVER ~~

  • I remember hearing this song on the radio in 1997; I still love it!

  • Nice song!

  • this is one of the better tracks from trial by fire...this was a good comeback at the time, but too many ballads...

  • So much soul! WAs this Journey with Steve Perry's final album together?

  • @luvperry08 Yes, with Perry :)

  • nice

  • Steve Perry PLEASE Come Back, This World Needs You And That Awsome Voice Of Yours. I Think You Would Be The Second Coming..Save This World With Love, The Love You Gave Us At One Time, We Are Ready To Give That Love Back!!

  • I agree with 21jlynne, Steve Perry was, is, and always will be the voice of Journey, he WAS Journey. l left Journey with Steves "departure".

  • @VeryStevePerry i separated from journey then too!! grrr

  • There is no "JOURNEY" without STEVE PERRY...He is Journey!!!

  • dude dis song describez me so it makes me wanna cry cuz my baby is not my baby anymore :,(

  • This is a beautiful song. I love Journey!

  • steve perry was unique in his own way..man..i gtta say of all the vox tat im tryin to follow,he's by far the hardest..cheers to journey..and the awesmeness they bring to the world..

  • right after "When You Love A Woman", this is the other great song on the "Trial By Fire" album

  • I miss "Steve Perry and Journey!!!!" Tegether they were Magic!!!!!

  • Haha, my cousin use to bully me into memorizing all the band members names.

  • I miss Journey and Perry....to me, that was the magic.

  • i miss journey

  • dood jouney still plays

so do you miss journey or perry??

  • The Magic FIVE were JOURNEY, Vallory, Cain, Schon, Perry, and Smith.

Without them together it's just a tribute band. I've seen some tribute bands that deliver the songs better than the current Journey.

  • wtf? thts stupid do you even knw what happened to them?? and who were some of the original members?

  • Yeah, I know all of them what do you find so disturbing about my statement? Ross Vallory the bass player, Jonathon Cain the Pianist, Neal Schon the guitarist, Steve Smith the drummer, and Steve Perry the Vocalist Sold MORE music than the Journey of TODAY will ever sell. The 5 of them wrote those famous songs and nobody have ever been able to replace Perry's voice since.

  • thats true

  • This is as fresh today as it was the day it came out!

  • This is my favorite Journey cd.

  • what??? if you compare this album to the others its their worst one!

  • good

  • I love this man! Best singer and frontman journey ever had! TBF is a master-piece great song!!!

  • How are people comparing Perry to Augeri! that is rather stupid! as a mater of fact is rather ridiculous!

  • i forgot how good this whole tape was!!

  • This song is helping me through a tough break up... Journey is the best...

  • Chin up pal ;) Its all about the Journey!

  • Very good song!!!!

  • Such an amazing song!

  • Another great song from this amazing man!

  • Lo maximo......porsupuesto tambien para Sudamerica!...Viva Steve Perry!

  • he has got one of the best voices in music...ahhhhh....i love listening to him sing.....especially love songs.....

  • This song should have been released as a single : the hook is extremely melodic

  • The whole ALBUM should have had more Radio time!

  • I love the way it ends.

  • I agree. I like the way Steve Smith just lays down a good, solid drum line. Nothing fancy, just good.

  • great song ! truly a Journey classic !! *****

  • Steve Perry is my cure! My pain medication!

  • From my soul I say... good-bye yesterday

One more night alone, without the touch... of you

Then I start to break... is it my mistake

Tell me am I wrong... for holdin' on... to you

  • not bad

  • this song is one of their greats too bad its not heard a lot.

  • he sounds like augeri on this one..great song though

  • he doesn't sound like augeri on this, augeri sounds like HIM.

  • Thanks for clarifying! I couldn't agree more!

  • You hit the nail on the head! I say there would be no Augeri if it was not for "PERRY" who he probably learned to sing from ! I am no longer a Journey fan without Perry but I am not knocking anyones talent ...I will give Augeri credit for the fact that he could sing ...JUST NOT AS GOOD AS PERRY CAN ,HAS AND DOES !!!!!

  • listening to this album again, I came to the conclusion that this is right up there with their best work, what a shame that everything after this album had to transpire the way it did. Journey today are nothing more than a tribute band.

  • What can I say, AWESOME as always, love everything he sings!

  • To Perry fans everywhere: sign the Steve Perry Sing Again petition for those of us who want to hear his solo work again!! Go to petitiononlinecom and add your name (enter this in the address line to get to the specific petition) /srperry1/petition.html. Let Steve know how much hes still loved!!!

  • He's been working on new stuff....he co-wrote recently with Nuno Bentencourt (Extreme)

  • This song makes you cry. His voice sounds sad. He put so much emotion in this song, it sounds so beautiful!! Great job Steve!!!

  • That's comment is about Hugo (NOT STEVE of course!!!) I was not impressed with this Hugo tribute singer.

Who really could ever take Steve's place? He was unique!!! Voice and lyrical interpretation and emotional intensity and sexual magnetism. I mean really!! They broke the mold!!!

  • there are some songs arnel don't need to touch and this is one of them!! nothing agains arnel but steve perry will always be the front man of Journey,,and when he comes back watch Journey lose some of their fans,, won't that be funny? and it is too bad cuz jon and neal are such good musicians,, they go great together, the three of them,, it once was great,, but steve is still awesome always will be,, Perry on!!!!

  • I checked him out...No cigar, sorry.

  • I totally agree with you!! Steve Perry made Journey for what they are today and tomorrow...You got to admit that. Steve's awesome voice and song writings put Journey on the forefront of rock and roll. His stage presents live is priceless. Steve Needs to come back to Journey cuz this rendition suffers bigtime but neal and jon are trying to keep something dead alive and thats sad man! Only when Steve Perry returns then Justice is served. Until then dead is dead man. Long live Steve Perry!!!!!!

  • A classic song, shame it doesn't get much airplay anymore, even though it was a single.

  • I have never heard this on the radio =(

  • Steve broke my hear years ago by not asking me to marry him! There's still time, Steve!

    An absolutely incredible, incomparable voice.

  • whatever dvd of this song should touch our heart, still where should it exist......

  • AP sucks,,Perry rules.

  • This really is an incredible album and song. Nearly every song on this cd I truly enjoy,,,not really crazy about Cant tame the Lion though, but even that song Steve poured every bit of emotion into. There just isnt enough that can be said to praise and acknowledge the work and true passion that Steve puts into every single recording.

  • I would agree that TBF is one of their best effort, but I love Can't Tame The Lion. I think Steve's voice on that song is really sexy!! You're also right we can't praise Steve Perry enough.

  • Steve Perry's voice is incredilble. NO ONE can copy it. They will try but it cannot be done.

  • i could not agree more. also--about when was this song made? never heard it before.

  • Trial by Fire. 1995. the very last album they made together. :(

  • Actually the album came out in 1996. I know cause that was when I had mad chicks and would sing a lot of Steve's songs, maybe that's vice versa, I got the chicks cause I sang... lol.

  • pdelone9..............OH YEAH BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Dittos and kudos' all OVER the damn place on that one........I was a lead singer for many a year; never made much money but Got-DAM did I ever come home with ph numbers...and womens' underwear!! PERRY was one of the culprits!!!

  • I think it was 1996. And sadly, it is the last album they made together =(

  • 'Easy To Fall' remains my personal favorite...it speaks to people everywhere.

'Time to say the words unspoken..'

  • Yeah, that one is prolly their best one. I haven't heard it in a while, though. Thanks for reminding me about it nine months ago, but yet I'm just now reading it!

  • Steve's voice IS music. There is so much feeling and soul in every note he sings and it is just amazing how it sounds when it all comes together into a beautiful song!

  • You are so right! You can just feel the way he puts his all into his music.

  • Yes this is one of the last great hits from Journey.

I will have to admit I am very looking forward to hearing the new album in 08.

  • Is there really going to be a new album this year? Great, do you know when it's supposed to come out?

  • They're doing another album?! Are they coming back together again?! O.O

  • This song is just great!

  • TBF is the most underrated album in the entire music industry IMHO ... this song totally reminds me of jessica and the head games she put me through, telling me that I was the sweetest guy she knows... Now I hope she gets what she deserves from that other dude ...

  • Been a Journey fan since the beginning. This is my favorite album. This song is a very close second to 'Who's cryin now.' in my opinion. Then again, I pretty much love everything Journey has put out. I would love to see Steve Perry tour again. What a talent.

    Cheers.

  • It reminds me of my true love her name was Anna from Minsk,Belarus I'll always love her and even though we can't be together she will be in my heart every day, this song is one of the best Steve has ever sung and Neil's solo is amazing,my second fav is Only The Young!

  • Love this song as well and I have to agree with [squyres] I also love the way he Pour's his heart and soul into his song's.

It sound's like magic everytime you hear him sing♥

  • They Should have made a video for this. Awesome song. I think this is one of those songs that every guy including myself. has can or has or will relate to. There is always that one girl that we tell ourselves we should be with. Very Easy to fall in love but it's very difficult to get over someone.

  • This is my fav song on the album =)

  • Very underated album,cool song...

  • Steve Perry was the heart and soul of Journey! I still get chills hearing his voice after 20 something years!

  • I am the exact same way

  • What a wonderful song !! Thanks for this !! He always poured his heart out in his songs--so much passion !! Peace/Love We need more from you, Steve !!!
