I have 2 special needs children myself, and like your child my daughter was bullied in her own classroom everyday for 2yrs with her school doing little to nothing about it, finally I had her transferred to a much better school. Her previous school made us seem like the ones that were wrong and although I never approached her bullies or their parents as the school requested there isnt a day I wish I had my chance again.

Right on. This father did what most children wish their parents would do. It is a shame that the prosecutors in this jurisdiction had nothing better to do than to demonize him for taking up for his own daughter. I'm totally on the dad's side. I think he probably could have handled it a little bit better but the truth is we all get very mad sometimes and act without thinking it through completely. In this case I can find no fault with the dad even though I think he could have handled it a little bit better. I think the guys reaction was quite restrained in light of the things that those punks did to a girl with cerebral paulsy. I would have had a very difficult time not punching the living shit out of the bus driver and the kids that tormented the girl. I would criticize him for being too laid back, except for the fact that he needs to stay out of jail and work to support his family. Finally I think ANY child found guilty of bullying a person with a disability should received a much more severe punishment even jail time in my opinion for targetting someone who cannot defend themselves, for those who think making fun of special needs people is cool you're nothing but cowards and I welcome anyone who thinks its acceptable to come see me personally, I welcome the opportunity to educate you my way :D

Mr Jones you're my hero! I have 2 special needs children myself, and like your child my daughter was bullied in her own classroom everyday for 2yrs with her school doing little to nothing about it, finally I had her transferred to a much better school. Her previous school made us seem like the ones that were wrong and although I never approached her bullies or their parents as the school requested there isnt a day I wish I had my chance again.

why doesnt the kids mother or the kid talk about why hes such a bully. They both act like they did nothing wrong. This is why i hate trash in any color, because they dont think before they act and never take responsibility for when they do. Good for him. I hope his little girl is OK...she is obviously well loved and protected. And no, he shouldnt just have "told the sherrif"; too many schools and police do NOT take this sort of thing seriously. That father did what was needed, and sometimes that is more effective and proper than what is technically right.

Actually, I heard that his initial thought was that a White kid was picking on his daughter. He would've lost if it were a White kid, but since the kid was Black, he calmed down his nerves to some extent.

I must first begin by saying that, just like in public schools, there are some pretty quirky homeschoolers who are awkward and antisocial. But, for the large percent, homeschoolers are regular kids whose parents decided to help them with their school at home and let them socialize afterwards. @SexyEyez89 friends later. I take band, art, and a bunch of other classes outside of home. Also, have you considered that there is BAD socialization and GOOD socialization? Since I have chosen to avoid negitive influences, I have protected myself against drugs, getting my heart broken, and other stuff like that. I'm not saying life is perfect, it is just doesn't have the amount of "drama" as other teens.
I'm sorry to have ranted, I just get my feelings hurt when people say I'm antisocial.

Good for james Jones. If he had struck one of the kids, that would be different, but I don't think it's a bad thing at all for some of these kids to realize that life may have real consequenses for those who think they can torment whomever they please.
