  • Here is a unicycle. You are to ride it wherever you go.

  • The music + chewie roaring as Han sinks into carbon freeze = me tearing up. Im a 37 yo non-gay male.

  • i sooooooo wish this would happen to me...as long as i don't die during freezing!!!

  • THIS movie was the MOST adult of them all. REAL tragedy, real love and real triumph over temptation and evil!

  • you have some great stuff here

  • very interesting thanks

  • i love how he never takes his eyes off of Leia

  • I was just watching this on VHS and he was wearing his jacket in the close-up shots.

  • Stupid 3PO with his loudmouth talking.

  • hahahh "i love you" "i know"

  • Han Solo going to his doom........like a boss.

  • kill those ugnaughts while you're at it

  • YES! THE ORIGINAL VOICES!! YES!!

  • Every time a girl says to me "I love you" I look at her with the straightest face possible and reply monotonically "I know."

I've lost count how many times I've done it.

I actually had one girlfriend who had never seen the OT before and so I made her watch them back to back, like half way into Empire, she says "Holy shit, I finally figured it out. Your cockiness is like Han Solo."

  • When Threepio says Turn around! I can't see! It seems so weird and creepy, like he wants to witness a potential execution.

  • Only Han Solo would Dislike this that much.

  • Leia: I Love You.

    Han: I Know.

    Chewie: *Roars*

Han: That I did not know.

  • @GreenCollegeMan YES! FINALLY somebody else is giving a robot chicken reference!

  • @GreenCollegeMan that's from robot chicken

  • Lois/Leia: I Love You.

    Peter/Han: F#@k Off.

  • Which star wars is this from?

  • what episode is this

  • @lego22Builder Damn you.

  • Han Solo disliked this...

  • leia: :,( i love you

    han:.....fuck off

  • When did your record this? I ask because I hear that Boba Fett has his original voice.

  • 1 got carbon freezed

  • Thanks for putting up the original sound of boba fett. I always thought he sounded a bit like the recent Green Goblin from spiderman.

  • @goldAUsilverAG yes this is the original and far superior Boba Fett voice - not the stupid 2004 version

  • i went to planet hollywood the day befroe yesterday for my b'day. i sat next to THE ACTUAL MOVIE PROP!!!! :D

  • a politician who knows how to get things Done

  • I know

  • Boba Fett disliked this.

  • This scene is my favourite scene in the whole saga. You know why? Just look at their faces. All the emotions. The tension. The anxiety. The sadness. The anger. You don't just see it; you feel it.

  • @AdobeExcel - absolutely. So far superior to ANY moment in the Prequels

  • Oh by the way, you are to wear this pretty pink dress and bonnit. Ride this unicycle, and wear these clown shoes. I have altered the deal, pray I dont alter it any further.

  • I..... Don't wan't you to be my son in law

  • Why does he freeze Han anyway? Isn't it much smarter to kill him?

  • @Jorrit1993 ... Boba would've gotten paid more if he delivered Han to Jabba ALIVE.

  • Oh how I miss this version with the original Boba Fett voice :(

  • @actionthatsucks absolutely. the change really hampers the scene, the "lifeless" new voice of Boba Fett in many ways reflects the "lifeless" approach that Lucas now takes to film

  • I love that shot where the smoke clears and you see Vader's face look up. So freaking cool.

  • @Cheezburger2012 and notice at that moment the smoke mysteriously is going in reverse too? :D

  • i want to have my own Han Solo. can be in carbonite.

  • Vader was such a bad ass. "I'm altering the deal. Pray I don't alter it any further."

    Enough said

  • @bgiles26 Just say that to anyone when you choose not to keep to your side of the bargain. Will work every time. Well... Or not.

  • I want Han Solo DEAD

  • "I Love You."- Lois/Leia

    "F#@k Off!"-Peter/Han

  • Han and Leia beat Anakin and Padme any Day.

  • One Person is a Trekkie.

  • Harrison Ford ab-libbed the "I Know." respond to Carrie Fisher's "I Love You." and Harrison also ab-libbed shooting the Arab Swordsman for "Raiders of the Lost Ark." Those are some of the reasons why Harrison Ford is an Awsome Actor.

  • @GreenCollegeMan To be fair, the only reason he ab-libbed shooting the guy was because he was horribly ill at the time. Still he is an awesome actor.

  • @GreenCollegeMan Harrison Ford understands films and has very good taste. He would probably make an at least decent director. For example; they had to force him to do the voicovers in the original Blade Runner because he knew they were a terrible idea and were terribly written.

  • Evil Darth Vader is way better than the Bratty Little Kid who shouts: "Yippee!"

  • I love this scene so much, but 1:42 makes me want to cry... I love Han :(

  • Thank goodness Han Solo dosent die that would be REALLY sad

  • fuck off new favorite phrase

  • One person perhaps was not as strong as the Emperor thought!

  • Fuck yeah, original Jeremy Bulloch voice-over! Fuck Temuera Morrison!

  • Was this airing on HBO or somthing? TNT played episode 4,5,6 and they have their logos all over the screen.

That's for posting this can not wait for the Blu-Rays.

  • One of the greatest scenes in Cinema history.

  • Did that imperial officers voice get redubbed too? ffs why cant lucas leave them the fuck alone, so what if the officer originally had an english accent, when people know these films inside out it really irritates how he insists of tweaking everything everytime he rewatches it and find some new quirk he doesnt like, he did the same thing to the Indiana Jones chronicles

get over it George u dick

  • @bluejeckett yeah the redubbing of the officer was annoying...

  • Not 1080p, but still great.

  • Anyone who says this is the worst Star Wars movie because it was the most boring one deserves to have a pineapple shoved up their urethra.

  • leia looks scared shitless of vader, with good reason! imagine escaping his clutches in such bold fashion (in a new hope) only to be recaptured by him! you know he wouldnt let her off so easy this time. great subtle acting by fisher!

  • The U.S. government has the technology for carbon freezing since the 50's, but it's top secret.

  • Empire Strikes Back is much better than Lord of the Rings is

  • @92af I hardly think u can compare a sci fi film with a fnatasy one

  • Only John Williams could write music which is totally badass yet tragic in the same moment! One of my all time favorite sequences in any film!

  • 1:29 this part always gives me the shudder

even after the 197th time that i watch it

  • The sound volume for this video is horrible

  • Damn stormtroopers, why you gotta cock block the guy?

  • This is what Vader does to the guys who date his daughter.

  • @511TBone girls do like a Rebel

  • @511TBone when u put it like that its almost sweet

  • @511TBone and attempts to do to his kids who try incest..... yeah that was a really weird moment in movie history.

  • @511TBone ha ha lol

  • I like his small smile to Leia as he's going into the carbonfreeze... the little things you notice the more often you see these films...

  • The shot of Darth Vader emerging from the smoke at 1:56 is awesome.

Along with the characters. And the music. And the dialogue. Well, just about everything.

  • ...............................I KNOW.

That is like a stake threw the chest. Best scene, well its in the top ten haha. Love the movies too much. This gets me every single time though.

  • "THE EMPIRE WILL COMPENSATE YOU IF HE DIES."

Somehow, Imperial compensation just doesn't sound appealing.

  • The part where the smoke fades and vader appears, right after han is freezed... BADASS!!

  • Man was Carrie Fisher beautiful.

  • "I love you."

    "I know."

    Pimpest line ever

  • I've had 6 women in my life say "I love you." Each time one did, I simply looked at them with the straightest face and said "I know."

  • Han goes into the carbonite freezing chamber with his hands bound by his sides, yet comes out with them up... ESB is [by far] my favorite of the six films, but this discrepancy has always bothered me.

  • @numberoneclutchfan it seems the dwarves take the spouses off right before he gets in the freezing chamber

  • @numberoneclutchfan I think during the infamous "I love you......I know" moment, the Ugnaughts unbound his hands, first by the cuffs which are connected to to the binds by his arms. ESB is my fave too; of the original films of the saga.

  • Can never take Boba Fett seriously anymore without thinking of Robot Chicken.

  • My interpretation about Vader stopping Fett from shooting isn't at all to do with his 'connection or kindness' or something nice. Vader knows Chewie is of no threat. He could kill him instantly if it came to it. I think the reason Vader doesnt let Fett kill him is cuz he wants Lea and Chewie to suffer the pain of seeing if Han survives or not. He doesnt care for Han, but he knows Leia and Chewie luv him. What better way to make someone suffer then letting them watch their luved one getting hurt.

  • doesnt lobot look alot like locutus

  • ahhh good times, when we actually cared about the characters in a Star Wars movie.

  • Leia: I love you.

    Han Solo: I know

    So.

    Freakin.

    Classic.

    Amazing!

  • @FaustComplex tht it is but i prefer the family guy version better

    Leia: I love you

    Han: Fuck off

  • han solo is such a dick. leia "i love you" han solo "i know" if i was leia i would have kicked him in the nuts before he got frozen. then he'd make a really painful looking face lol

  • Vader stops Fett because.... C3PO is on Chewies back, and he created C3P0. There is still good in him, I felt it.

  • @Dusticron I think the more logical explanation is that Boba shooting Chewie could've led to a bloodbath in the carbon freezing chamber. Vader needed Han alive in order to test the procedure on him before subjecting Luke to it. Better to stop Boba from firing that first shot even if it means sacrificing a few Stormtroopers.

  • My favorite scene ever. Most amazing use of music especially in the transition. Fantastic editing (even with the Han Solo vest continuity issue . . .). Superb.

  • The best lines in the entire series!!!!!!! i love you... I know!

  • i love you ...... i know

  • vader doesnt kill chewie cuz lukes connection to him, thus a higher force profile when luke "meditates"

  • WTF!! PIG-MIDGETS?!!

  • I thoroughly enjoyed and FMAO'ed at Carrie's totally candid commentary on this scene: "it was UNBELIEVABLY hot up here... Chewbacca, I mean, can you believe how it was for him... plus, he started to smell like, unbelieve-- ... this is a hairy suit though, it's not HIS fault... it's THE SUIT that's starting to smell, I mean, he's -- everyone... it is a steam bath where we are... I think Harrison was a little crabby on this one..."

  • Carrie's best acting in the whole series!!

I have a question diablo888 you might answer. Why does Vader stop Boba Fett from shooting Chewie? Luke's already on the way there, I thought he had no more need for him. It's just something I've wondered for years.

  • @bunnyndisguise why get chewie killed when you can interrogate later. or threaten to kill him so that leia gives out the coordinates of the rebel fleet. or luke. they do have a emotional friendship with chewie which could be exploited. that'd be my opinion.

  • @diablo888 Wow, thanks for answering me, that has bothered me for a long time. Of course that makes sense, use him as an emotional hostage, I never thought of it that way! Thanks for that!!

  • @diablo888 Plus Wookiee slaves are always useful

  • @diablo888 - Or, and this is just speculation, the Emperor's words made that much sense to Vader, and he wouldn't want to have to deal with an already enraged Force-driven Skywalker, who could 'destroy him and the Emperor'. Just a thought.

  • @diablo888 or maybe he didn't want the droid he built on the wookiees back hurt? lol JK

  • @bunnyndisguise i reckon it's cos he doesn't want fett starting a whole load of idiot stormtroopers firing their weapons all round an enclosed space, and also maybe he's worried fett would hit leia, who vader has a soft spot for...after all, we know he's a good guy in the end!...

  • @bunnyndisguise Because George Lucas understood that killing Han Solo would destroy the movie, and nobody would come see the third movie. Han Solo "obviously" was a very important character. Personally he is my favorite....Luke in my opinion was a fag, like C-3PO......Im just sayin....

  • @SuperThunderlips It's been said that Harrison Ford asked Lucas to kill off Han because according to HF "his story line was done". Thank God George was smart enough to not listen to him. Everyone loves the character, who doesn't love the bad boy gone good?

  • @bunnyndisguise If you believe the prequels, Vader stopped Boba Fett from shooting Chewie(who is wearing C3PO), because Vader/Anakin created C3PO. Although Vader had no idea if 3PO still existed he had an affinity for those protocol droids from his youth. He may also have been slightly aware of the Luke/Leia connection and didn't want Fett shooting in her general direction. Or maybe carbonite fumes are highly explosive.

  • @DisneyFanReview I suppose by Vader stopping Fett from killing Chewbacca, he was stopping him from permanently damaging his droid. Because of the prequels, he knows that is See-Threepio is his and that is why he stopped him.

But, the reason why he stopped Fett is that he know that Luke would have felt Chewbacca's death through the Force and that is why he insisted that none of Luke's friends were to be killed. Remember that Vader's goal is to turn Luke and kill the Emperor.

  • @bgiles26 Ahhh... hadn't considered the force connection...which is stupid of me really. Good call.

  • @DisneyFanReview i had that same theory about the Vader/Anakin created C3PO thing.

  • @bunnyndisguise

A gunfight in there could damage the carbon freeze.

  • @bunnyndisguise - I would venture to say that maybe Vader didn't want Luke too riled up against him in their battle. Just a supposition.

  • @bunnyndisguise my theory on that question about the Vader stopping boba fett...is cause Darth Vader somehow still had a memory of him building C-3PO and that connection there....that is what i feel

  • @bunnyndisguise it's not only Carrie's best acting but i think that everyones acting was awesome in that scene.

the first time i watched that scene, a little tear got out of my eye. it's like han was dying... WHYYYY

  • Comment removed

  • did boba fett's voice change?!?!?!?!

  • @drkTmplar422a9

well 'spotted'. Temuera Morrison (Jango Fett) redubbed the scenes for the 2004 DVDs, since Boba Fett is merely a clone of him.

  • @diablo888 I appreciate consistency i suppose but cudn't Lucas have just said Boba was Jango,s strangly strong resembling son, then the voice cud have remained unaltered

  • @diablo888 I think it's a little disrespectful to the original voice actor, honestly.

  • @drkTmplar422a9 thats what i thought

  • Probably the greatest romantic scene from a sci-fi geeks point of view.

  • I always thought that Leia and Vader shared a connection at 0:55, like she was starting to see something between them.

  • @WhySoSerious0331

or she was just scared as hell imagining being held captive by vader again. she WAS supposed to be taken to his ship after all. That's why Han wants Chewie to "take care of her".

  • 3:00

and right about now his nose starts itching........

  • Great job.
