To me the difference between them is that Sridevi has been both the nerd's as well as a romantic's dream whereas Madhuri has been a romantic's dream, Sridevi has so many substantial roles in her career, its quite unparalleled. Most of you have not seen her work down south where she was brilliant. Most of you do not care to realize that she was and still is the only actress who can carry a film on her shoulders and btw this is not a slight on Madhuri; she did very well with the talent she had.

@Dancewithme015 nahh, sridevi was an established actress way before the 80s, she made her debut in hindi film in the late 70s, but she worked in the telegu and tamil industries before this... she's been active since the 70s, so technically she's madhuri's senior... and sridevi has done a wider range of roles and is considered to be more versatile than madhuri; however, madhuri in my opinion is just as good but i feel she made some poor film choices at times which restricted her full potential

Sridevi was more of a hero than a heroine. while madhuri always fiddled around with the heros, sri was above all that. Sri used to be the hero of all her films. It is impossible to compare madhuri with sridevi if you look at sri's history and achivements. Sri is much much above madhuri. Sridevi is the only actress who managed a double role in an amitabh movie.
I totally agree with you. Being fan of Sri we should not bash Mad & vice versa. But in case of healthy comparison b/w two, Sri will win hand down.
a) She has ruled four major film industry in India (Hindi, Tamil, Telgu & Malayalam) while Mad was limited only to hindi films
b) Sri's body of work is far more diverse & challenging than Mad.

Great video! People need to stop focusing on the drama and focus on their stars' work! Madhuri and Sridevi looked good together, and they're both unique in their own ways. Both are tremendous actresses, but Madhuri has the better dancing skills whereas Sridevi's on-screen persona is electrifying and magnetic.

I admire Sridevi tremendously. On raw acting talent i think shez hands down the best we got (thanks to that extraordinary comic timing) , but Madhuri is my all time fave. Shes the more complete package in terms of screen presence , beauty, dialogue delivery, dancing skills. And the good part is her being No1 isnt so illegitimate since if an avg. sridevi performance is 9/10, an avg madhuri perf is definitely 8.5 /10 ...but i love both of them anyway..
If you really admired her, you wouldn't mention the dethroning thing. For comic timing, it's Maduri that was very good too for comedy-- but for dancing with expressiveness, versatility, and true screen presence it's Sri ji all the way. If you are a Maduri fan, then that's fine. She's a born actress but that doesn't give anyone the right to bring up the dethroning stuff.....

Hi, i am a big Sri fan. The pictures from 1:14-1:39 are from an event in Visakhapatnam (Vizag) on Nov 23, 1997 at Gurajada kalakshetram auditorium and i was studying Engineering 2nd year at that time.
All of my classmates knew i was a big fan of Sridevi. But i didn't knew about the event until the next day when i heard from my classmates. I was very devastated that i missed to see my super star in my home city

I am a die hard fan of Sridevi. Madhuri is also good. When Sri & Madhuri are asked about each other; Sri simply said " Madhuri is par execllence" whereas Madhuri compared herself to the Devi. at 46 i do not think anyone looks as fit as sri none of her contemprories have aged so gracefully . sri is also a very good example of changing with the times watch how her style has evolved from wearing indian stuff like kanjeevaram and embroidred sarees to chic and super swanky designer gowns and dresses.

Sridevi was more of a hero than a heroine. while madhuri always fiddled around with the heros, sri was above all that. Sri used to be the hero of all her films. It is impossible to compare madhuri with sridevi if you look at sri's history and achivements. Sri is much much above madhuri. Sridevi is the only actress who managed a double role in an amitabh movie.

I totally agree with you. Being fan of Sri we should not bash Mad & vice versa. But in case of healthy comparison b/w two, Sri will win hand down.
a) She has ruled four major film industry in India (Hindi, Tamil, Telgu & Malayalam) while Mad was limited only to hindi films
b) Sri's body of work is far more diverse & challenging than Mad.

I admire Sridevi tremendously. On raw acting talent i think shez hands down the best we got (thanks to that extraordinary comic timing) , but Madhuri is my all time fave. Shes the more complete package in terms of screen presence , beauty, dialogue delivery, dancing skills. And the good part is her being No1 isnt so illegitimate since if an avg. sridevi performance is 9/10, an avg madhuri perf is definitely 8.5 /10 ...but i love both of them anyway..

Besides the reason sridevi was underrated is because she came at a time movies had horrible scripts, songs were meaningless but catchy, and the fact that sridevi is a south indian and was media shy .

Hi, i am a big Sri fan. The pictures from 1:14-1:39 are from an event in Visakhapatnam (Vizag) on Nov 23, 1997 at Gurajada kalakshetram auditorium and i was studying Engineering 2nd year at that time.
All of my classmates knew i was a big fan of Sridevi. But i didn't knew about the event until the next day when i heard from my classmates. I was very devastated that i missed to see my super star in my home city

I am a die hard fan of Sridevi. Madhuri is also good. When Sri & Madhuri are asked about each other; Sri simply said " Madhuri is par execllence" whereas Madhuri compared herself to the Devi. Sridevi just celebrated her 46th birthday, so a BEEG birthday wishes to her and i hope she has a happy and a fulfilling and a long life.
at 46 i do not think anyone looks as fit as sri none of her contemprories have aged so gracefully . sri is also a very good example of changing with the times watch how her style has evolved from wearing indian stuff like kanjeevaram and embroidred sarees to chic and super swanky designer gowns and dresses.

sri is looking prettier eveywehere as compared to madhuri the song was good in the background. on madhuri wedding sri was actually looking prettier than the bride. sri is born beautiful she just cannot help it.

They look really good together! I just tohught how good would they look together if they worked a lot with each other, they could've had what Rani and Preity have onscreen (like onscreen sisters or something...) maybe then, we wouldn't have so much of the comparisons and weak disses at both of these legandary stars...

Hey, they starred together in a movie called "Zameen" supposed to be directed by Ramesh Sippy also starring Vinod Khanna, Jackie Shroff and Rajnikant. But the movie got shelved as the producer ran out of finances.

Finally a nice tribute video to the 2 stalwarts of Bollywood! Bollywood will NEVER see any Sridevi or Madhuri in the future. As Rani Mukherjee has put it (she said it for Madhuri, but I will generalise), none of the current actresses can be even a small toe of what these 2 actresses are!

Thanks for the nice comment. Rani has said that a lot of times about both of them. And not only Rani, most of them will say that there is no one like these two. They were the last empresses.
But don't say we'll not see in future. I just hope we get someone like them. After all we want a good package in a heroine.
