this whole string quartet is one of the greatest string quartets ever composed...although it doesn't seem to be as famous as the "death and the maiden" and it doesn't have a fancy nickname to it, but this is Schubert's best for last...since day 1 I heard this piece I was amazed at this string quartet...even when schubert composes a 40 minute work like this one, he never manages to forget that intimate human aspect in his musical tales
Does anyone have information on string players - virtuosos perhaps? for whom Schubert may have composed his last four quartets and the Sting Quintet in C op. 163 and the piano trios Op. 99 and 100?
