I am seeing The Moody's in a couple of months for the first time in twentyfive years. I'm particularly sad to know Ray won't be there. So do they forego songs like this? That's crummy.
This is a great video, with some excellent, all-too brief shots of Mike Pinder playing his old Mk-II Mellotron. His ability to wring swooping pitch-bends out of that machine is legendary, and unmatched by anyone in rock and roll.
This is a true gem!! What a wonderful song!! It is quite mesmerizing for sure!! The Moodies are truly a phenomenal band of all time!! Their music is pure magic for the soul!! Their music has left such an impact on my life. Their music has touched so many souls through the years and continues on today!! Pure brilliance!! The Moodies forever my friends!! ♥
The video was grainy, and (of course) it's black & white, but there's no lip-synching here. It's also very faithful to the original release - no extended flute solo by Ray Thomas. Excellent performance by the Moodies! Thank you for posting it.
Awesome Upload and Outstanding video Footage!!! The MOODY BLUES ROCK!!
I don't agree with Tim Leary's theology... however, the Moody Blues wrote an awesome song in reference with the psychedelic times, in which my dad was involved in...(he lived in San Francisco in 1967-1970 just for that reason) I myself have never passed through the "house of four doors"... if you know what I mean... Thanks for the posting!!!
the moodies were supposed to play in woodstock in mid august of 69 but pulled out at the last minute because of a booking in france. i wonder if this concert was from that time? ah well
...me too... I've hear this song over and over and over agin when I was a kid with my dad... my hairs, too, stand up when I hear these awesome psychedelic Moody Blues tunes!

FRICKIN' AWESOME! One of the greatest versions of this tune. The power of that mellotron through Marshall amplification makes my arm hairs stand up!

Quizás el mejor aporte de Ray Thomas para Los Moody Blues. Su otro tema For My Lady tambien es otra joya para el grupo.
