Deer Hunting In Maine

I agree with you full heartedly limyz, the winters and coyotes have been rough on us the past few years, however, something else to consider is the majority of maine hunters "if it's brown it's down" philosophy. i just watched a video on here where a kid thought he shot a doe with his bow (mid november) but it was really a spike. Identify your target and go for the mature buck. I know it sucks going home empty handed, but if we let the deer mature, the population will come back.

deer hunting in maine has to be the toughest. we have had bad winters and it killed lots of the population. coyotes really slay them too, so all you hunters and people that like to coyote hunt, please come to northern maine and help slay some coyotes. we are trying to get the population built back up. we do have some huge deer, but good luck finding them anytime other than middle of the night.

I have hunted Northern VT and soon to be hunting ME, i agree with the fact that alot of hunters go home empty handed. But there is something about hunting in jeans that i don't understand. If you want to educate about hunting the big fair chase woods then you should get off the roads and into the sticks. Put some mossy oak on as well...haha

yea im a big time hunter in maine. i agree with every word gilbert said there. ive lived here my whole life, and lemme tell all you out of staters something. all these hunting shows and people that think they can come up in northern maine and shoot a great big buck, be my guest. the bucks up hear are smart as hell. and the bucks up here are naturally fed by clover, buds, apples. not big buck feed and shit

Just a friendly reminder that your hat is illegal in Maine. I was wearing the exact same hat one afternoon and a GW came up on me on a 4-wheeler, and gave me a written warning for it. I know is sucks, but thought I'd save you the hassle!

I'm from Maine, but I'm stationed in the damn south right now. I sure do miss hunting up there. The only thing they do down here is dog hunting. It just isn't the same.

Hey man i just came across this video. God job I like it. I've gone empty handed for the past two seasons, but your are very right its all about being in the right place at the right time. Now I know what other hunters go through. Mass shotgun season just ended today but muzzleloader runs to the end of the month so we still got time.
