Was looking at a video about my old friend Peter Jennings- peter and I started out in the same town- Ottawa and later on we met on our travels around the world and he was a really great and loyal friend and helped me in all sorts of ways by recomending me to shows and producers but mainly he just was a really nice guy
Honestly I don't know- I was a reporter in England before I got into TV and picked up a camera, then after a couple of years I got offered a staff jon, then left and freelanced. Never went to a Journalism course in my life, we just learnt on the job
Not bad, as a freelancer, u get paid for your equipment as well as for you, if your good and u work a lot u do pretty well if things are slow it's pretty bad
Well...not EVERY cameraman, but yes. Some are cursed, kicked, spat on, hated, and delivered gift-wrapped death threats. I guess it's kind of like being a soldier: You take your heavy gear and go out there to shoot what you can.
In the end, if we have served successfully, people will forget that we exist, and they will enjoy the freedom we worked to give them.
Hard word, trying everything, taking chances, meeting people, doing everything you can to reach the top and SOMETIMES you'll make it but it's a crowed field and not easy to get in these days. Bob
My dream job when I'm older is to be a camera man for movies and hopefully live concerts.

I shoot news and I know what you mean. Have you been to war? Who do you shoot for?

I am very sad to say that I have not yet joined the many heroes out there. I am still working towards this goal.
One day, however, I'll be out there in the field with you guys.

Well im not going to war. Getting punched outside court or being embedded with gangs is good enough!

Wow...Have these things really happened to you?!

Yikes!...Poor guy. I am truly inspired...and worried now, lol.
Good luck to both of us. You first, though, as I may not need it until next year.
