@ragtop...FANTASIC story...my folks used to throw down at Country House...we lioved in nyack and had friends in CT near by...maybe they danced to your jams, man!!!
I used to play opposite these guys at the Country House (Deercrest Inn) in Banksville NY in the '60s. They were a B3 trio (Hammond, drums, sax). I remember them doing "Time" by the Chambers Bros. Those were the days! I was with The Soul Company.
Always knew this as A "Specials" song...then one day while grocery shopping at Whol;e Foods, I heard this...I was blown away in the produce section!!!!!!!
Gave a copy of this to my neighbor's kid.. Told him "if you're gonna spend all that money on a car stereo, try playing some REAL music on it!" Blew him away!
Hey, you guys are the foundations of music today, Rock on! With love from Nancy from New Rochelle, still alive! And so are you! Rock On. Say hi to Audrey.:)
i loved dancing to this, at leeds central, wigan casino, etc oh god, no one, who wasnt there would not understand the atmosphere, that these records created and had such an influence, thank you for posting this
now thats what i call music, need to get ma junior walker out this has put me in the mood for some of ma motown/soul/blues stuff, goddddddddddddd that organ omfg
LISA gotta hand it to you this is a belter has me moovin and groovin on ma chair gotta luv that sound, think another listen of this is required, been addeddddddd
first broken at the blue note july/august 66 by the eclectic mr Roger Eagle whilst he was in dispute with twisted wheel owners , the abaddi brothers . the reputed money difference being ,he wanted £5 for the allnight dj spot , and the abaddis would only offer £3 ? the problem was , Roger simply had THE record collection , but back to the record , Rex Garvin pure dancefloor MAGIC .
