Indeed, back then you had less stuff to work with and none of these software synths or racks of sound modules.
Most of these were wrote or started on a computer in dos with 16megs of ram or less and the samples in them are mono 22050hz 11025hz and even 8363hz some 8bit and a few 16bit.
I fondly remember the days of my amiga and st when if you were lucky you would have 1mb ram for your program and samples.
reminds me of how trance used to be -Good- b4 it became overfilled with predictable builds and overdone vocals (as is today's trance). bringing forth the variation and a reminder of good days past Gav. peace.
