  • master!

  • He's primarily playing excepts from many of his "Freak Guitar" songs. I'm glad he is skipping the GnR gig, as it seems to have been bad for Ron.

  • wow this is great Mattias IA Eklundh with a Jablonski! Next we must collab!

  • Eklundh!!!!!!!

  • warming ? i felt like it was a concert hahahah

  • That kind of halls have freakin' amazing acoustics. No echo pedal needed cause' the sound is echoed naturally already so beautifully. Nice.

  • @jspartacus You haven't heard any of his recordings, have you? He actually knows some very interesting chords.

  • @jspartacus He's definitely a guitarist that knows his stuff, he's got a great knowledge of theory and is capable of playing many styles. Take a listen to his albums.

  • @jspartacus dude, he tunes his guitar in a C#sus chord. Of course he knows a bunch of chords and voicings. His lines are describing chords and harmonic movement as well. Best, Sandemose

  • @jspartacus Hahah what? Really? So you reach this level without knowing any chords? Really? Go back to Guitar Hero.

  • @jspartacus Believe it or not, Beethoven didn't write Oasis songs.

  • @jspartacus

    2:36, there's your chord.....

  • would be interesting what "wasn't worth" to be seen, what was taken out by the editor

  • 3 people think justin bieber plays better guitar. lol

  • what was this shot with?

  • @TheJabberwock

I think it was shot with the Panasonic HVX200.

  • @trumper1000

man check out this song "dead on arrival" by Mr. Libido (Mattias's Pseudonym)

its the root of this song we both like so much.

    enjoy!

  • Most rock guitarists hide behind ther effects .....mattias can play almost clean......every note is struck with care and passion....genius is the word that describes his playing.

Ive played guitar for 30yrs but I'll never come close to this man.

  • @trumper1000

Matthias is also a mindblowing accustic guitar player he made a Song on his CD the Road Less Traveled

that is called the Women on Seat 17

and it has some of the most beautiful accustic guitar playin ive heard in my Life

i listen to instrumental Guitar music since 1999

  • he is a great musician. but in my opinion he needs to go about his creative process much slower. his songs are great parts surrounded by mediocre parts.

  • Zero dislikes. Fucking better stay that way.

  • @DaemoniumCC Just made a thumb down because you said that.

  • @DaemoniumCC You just jinxed it.

  • @Thomboline blasphemytard is the son of a motherless whore, it seems.

  • This really brings peace to your mind.

  • THIS is the tone for an electric guitar with an orchestra! Finally. I've always been disappointed with others using their typical lead overdriven sustaining cranked marshall tone with orchestras. It doesn't fit in my opinion. IA's tone is perfect for this situation. And what playing!

  • He is so good. It really impresses me and relaxes me every time I listen to me, almost like a melodic lullaby flowing into my ear.

  • Amazing tone.

  • The title of this video should be called: "Thor Warming up for Beethoven"

  • are any of the licks hes playing part of a real song he did??

  • @sfh113 Not specificly that I can tell, but he has the same general style/touch to the majority of his playing

  • If I could "warm up" like this... I would warm up on a studio, and I would make the best CD ever...

  • @2:35

  • fantastic great

  • does this guy have original material? this is godly

  • @sfh113 He has 5(?) albums with his band Freak Kitchen and 3 solo albums. It's some of the most unique-sounding music around nowadays

  • The way he grasps that beautiful guitar is just amazing.

I wish I could hold my guitar with such confidence.

  • @TheRealGodIsComing Yeah, just grasp the OUTCOME and REHEARSALS.. (lol). This Guy is one of our most nowadayas Swedish original muzicians.. And a guitarizt who stands in the frontline.. of discover the guitar possibility and yes, he does that in a very odd way not from a square angle, it's all just muzic, and guitar and life!! Been to the FG Camp and yes again this was an experience.. How can he do what he does?? The secret in all of us!
  • 1:57 !!!!

  • funny how they fade out the sides but then go out of their way to make sure the laney logo still shows :p

  • @Tuttermuts also, I like how he plays with a much more mellow sound compared to what he usually does.

  • I'm having seizures..

  • It doesn´t sound like Beethoven at all. Is this a transcription of a violinpart?

  • @SevenCircles he is warming up for a beethoven concert.. he's playing his own stuff

  • @SevenCircles

    Read the title.

    It's just a warm-up.

  • AW!!!

  • Wow, the sweeping technique as well as tapping.. So clean.

  • @explicatus I think what helps make the tapping extra clean (cuz he's already freaking clean!!) is the True Temperament frets. To the human ear, the intonation is perfect. So every note rings better, and will sound cleaner with other notes.

  • @TheTrevasaurusRex Yeah, that's probably it, combined with his flawless technique. I've been thinking about getting a true temperament Jem or getting a neck for my PRS due to the sustain and tone.

  • @explicatus They don't sell Jems with true temperament. You'd have to send them the neck and have them put a new finger board on it. If I could afford it I'd send my guitar, but tuition is a hell of a bitch!!

  • This should have over a million views.

  • Mattias FTW! \m/

  • He has a really unique style! Very fluid.

  • I would have loved to see this concert... Is there any recording of it somewhere?

  • Jess!

  • He's not only an awesome guitar player. Iv'e been to his Freak Guitar Camp three years in a row in he's the best teacher any guitarist can have.

  • @thorpenberg

maybe we'll see each other next year ;)

  • @thorpenberg

your contribution for the guitar competition that year was really good in my opinion. Just the right amount of humour, shred and pure awesomeness. Dragons last stand, haha =)

    I have it on video.

  • I met him at a masterclass. Not only is he an awesome player he's a really cool guy. Dont get that all the time. Malmsteen....

  • That is an absolutely incredible video quality! One of the best I have ever seen! :D

  • What a beatifoul tone.

  • these videos don't have enough plays matias's career is almost over and people still think van halen has competitive talent

  • @parsleysprigs almost over?

isnt he still making crazy bank off of fgc?

  • @TruNikkaz i'm reffering to the fact that he probably won't make too much more music and that van halen and jimmy hendrix are still on the cover of rolling stone and guitar world. people need to quit living in the past.

  • @parsleysprigs

ok, you had em scared for a minute thinking you knew something bad was going on haha

but i agree, van halen and hendrix were good for their time, but their time has long gone

and mattias here deserves all of that respect and more

  • such a great tone there

  • spoo!

  • Eres el mejor el amo como sacas esos sonidos??!

  • Fuckin Beautiful.

  • im in love with this man

  • I got turned on to freak guitar years ago and still love it. Check him out yall!

  • I think it's awesome that he uses True Temperament frets. It lends itself well to the types of sounds he makes on the guitar. He is a real innovator in a time of copiers.

  • @trex257 and the good thing is, he isn't insanely famous like Angus Young or anything; so hundreds of people won't end up trying to be like him. Keep freaky.

  • @25zeppelins EXACTLY! He is that amazing kind of talent that is very hard to imitate. A lot of people will try but they will fail miserably. He is the most unique player I have seen in a LONG time. I think it would be kind of cool if her were uberfamous, but I know he won't be because he doesn't do mainstream things. Either way, he is still amazing.

  • angus young.... are you kidding me?

  • @dan2212089 I'm saying, if you read my comment, that Angus Young is a ridiculously overrated famous guitarist that is nowhere near as good as Mattias. Pretty much.

  • @25zeppelins

oh sorry! I can't believe how badly i miss read your comment :P I thought you wrote fast rather than "famous" lol sorry about that.

  • ive met him ^^

  • why isn't "Art Metal" on itunes?....gawd damn it i cant wait for my copy to come in already.

  • THIS GUY IS "THE" SHIT!

  • fantastic, he is really in the zone in this one

  • Wow!

  • Beautiful video and audio, as well as showing a totally relaxed IA doing what he does best.

    Brilliant :)

  • this is really inspiring and beatiful. Mattias truly is a freak of nature. In a good sense, mind you :)

  • i love this man

  • Absolutely amazing!

  • wonderful (:

  • I don't think IA was even aware it was being filmed. I know he just got his first True Temperament guitar the day before so I think he was trying to get adjusted to it.

  • Simply brilliant!

Love the dry tone and IA´s concentrated look. :)

  • I think this is quite beutiful...I love "warming up" videos like this one. There is one with Kurt Rosenwinkel warming up that are fantastic as well. I really like IAs tone on this clip, very sensitive with great touch. Thanks for uploading...Best, Sandemose

  • @Sandemose i like g govan warming up vids

  • haha I like how the Laney logo isn't blurred.
