I remember Franco signing for Chelsea and the pundits saying he was 30, over the hill, too expensive and a mercenary seeing his days out on £20,000 a week. Todays current crop including Ronaldo, Torres, Berbatov et al would not be fit to tie Zola's bootlaces. I've supported Chelsea since 1954 and Franco was definitely the best player I've ever seen anywhere. He'll be back.....

Zola agreed to join Caliagri, Roman took over shortly after and offered him a bumper contract to try and get him to stay. But he'd already agreed to join Caliagri and he kept the agreement and went off to play for them.

He is the best chelsea player ever to wear the blue shirt and who graced Stamford Bridge, also when we signed ZOLA in november 1996 which cost us (chelsea) around £4.1million at the age of 30 and he was the legendary footballer who ever scored 30 goals a season until he left us in 2003 aged 36.

He (ZOLA) is my favourite ever chelsea player of all he is a legend.
