  • This would be more interesting with a small time lapse of the printing process.

  • @yelekaw oh yes. i know. that would be great, but i am only the designer and i am not working at shapeways. its to far away from my home and i think they have no time to make a video for me. i made this video only for expose the sculpture. it was not my intention to make a hollywood production.(no time)

  • @mindovermatter73 ah. i wish i were that creative.

  • In 3D printing, the object is "built" one layer or "slice" at a time. This takes place in a chamber filled with a powdered substance (and thus hidden from view).

Animating the creation of an object would be tedious and costly. I suspect (my conjecture) that the best way (and perhaps the only way) to do this would be to create hundreds of partially completed objects, each unit completed one step further than the previous. Then one would photograph them one-by-one in succession.

  • I fell asleep

    Petty music zzzZZZ

  • @HIEM3W i m so sorry for that cruel music. but i cant change that anymore.

  • looks almost like a MORRIN (one or two R's?) surface... ⌐_⌐

  • Was there a support structure while it was printing? If you could show it being printed, that would be cool.

  • It's something you watch and you realize that life's about to take a major leap forward.

  • @TheCartographer89 thank you :-)

    BP

  • @bcpii You gave the most intelligent question/comment here so far. I'd like to know myself.

  • you must be jesus

  • @CHILDRENOFBOBODOM

no, but something like this ;-)

  • Very cool!

Do you have the model uploaded to a 3D print service anywhere?

  • @stop4stuff yes, i have a little shop at shapewas. you can find the link in my profile :-)

  • @IAmSureIAmTheBest no. It's based off a cube which is why there are 3 axes x,y,z, and 6 loops. A tetrahedron would only have 2 loops.

  • Material?
