At 1:30 and 2:25 it looks like an artillery Time on Target attack, no hope for troops on the ground. The warthog takes out tanks, APCs and artillery batteries with equal ease, the absolute tops in close air support. And practically indestructible, too. Anyone that appreciates this vid should also go and wiki the AC-130, the good old Lockheed C-130 Hercules modified as a gun platform and command/control aircraft. The most common AC-130U variant features a 40mm Bofors cannon, a fucking M102 HOWITZER, and a GAU-12/U 25mm gatling gun related to the GAU-8/A from the A-10, plus FLIR/TV sensor arrays, armour plating etc... The crews need perfect coordination cos the recoil of the M102 can knock the aircraft out of its firing orbit. Mental!

The A-10 is slow because the aircraft was built around the gun. it is a 30 mm gun. It goes slow because of the fact that the main weapon of the A-10 is the gun, unlike say an F-16 where the gun was built around the plane therefore the F-16 can go faster because its main weapons are its missiles and bombs. Fighters are the only jets that even go fast and that is because that is what they are built to do. Not every aircraft has to be fast like the movies and tv shows show them.
