  • English longbowmen were the shit.

  • "Culture of archery". These days, there's a culture of video games. Hope those things, being played by teenage boys, help with might be the bow of this era: the drone.

  • This show is so much better than dealiest warrior, mostly because it dosen´t take itself too seriously. And I got to say that the female archer is really sexy. : )

  • I would like to have seen an English warbow but then again these people would have needed to have been trained for ages to fire them properly because they had a 100 pound plus draw which requires some strength I am proud to English as we had the most feared Archers in the world during the middle ages.

  • @94AggressiveInline The English longbow is indeed a powerful weapon and its devastation on French knights is legendary. The English were the best archers in Western Europe during the Late Medieval Period. Because years of training is required to be a skilled archers, replacements are difficult. That's why in later years, archers are being replaced with arquebusmen. Although early firearms have slower firing rate and poor accuracy, they required less training time and replacements are possible.

  • @s0v13tRaz3r You're right because the arrow loses some of it's force :)

  • @sompret There's a chunky man in England who is proclaimed as the only man who can pull a long bow. He was on a documentary a couple of years ago.

  • Some archers claim that the thumb draw or Mongolian release is better than the standard Mediterranean or three fingers release. Sometimes archers using the Mediterranean release face a problem when the three fingers do not release at exactly the same time resulting a foul draw. The thumb draw allows a better grip on the bow string, resulting a smoother release.

  • 150 pounds you sure? The highest you get these days is like 55 pounds

  • @k00lkane Well, these days, you don't need to puncture mail or armor in life-and-death battles.

  • @k00lkane did you not listen? 150 lbs is the amount of pressure strength needed to draw the string. 55 lbs is for medium game. around 65-75 and up is for large game
