  • How well does this work pulling up dry, sandy material?

  • Hello PandoraLeigh

Not well at all - it won't work without water.

I am not trying to be flippant but you could dig a hole in the dry material and fill the hole with water and then suction it up the loose sandy material at the bottom.

  • I am gonna build one thanks

  • Nice rig, I built one almost like it and found the corrigated tubing is a very good riffle system and that is where alot of the important heavies will end up. You may be pleased with what you see if you pan the tubings (as I call it ) first. Again, Nice vid!!!

  • Thanks for your comment! You are quite correct about the corrigated tubing - I mention this fact in the instructions I provide with the units manufactured for sale.

  • That's a great little device, I can see it being very useful for exploratory work! Does it suction material on both the pull and push strokes?

  • Hello RedPiper22!

Thank you for the compliment - It will only suction on the pull stroke - material is moved through the hose to the bucket on the push stroke.
