  • Clown loaches grow about a foot long and need well over 75 gallons, mollies need 20+ gallons, etc, etc, etc, etc.

I could go on and on about this tank, it's just overstocked and poorly stocked. I bet half of these fish are dead now.

The inch per gallon rule is a load of bull, no experienced aquarist follows it. Use actual tank size recommendations online/aquarium books instead. I can't stuff a 20 inch fish in a 20 gallon tank.

  • too much gravel i think

  • the rules of fish keeping:

    1. one inch of fish per gallon

    2. nobody follows that rule :)

  • @litttlelauren97 so true :D

  • @litttlelauren97 I have 5 gallons per 1 inch fish i have 10 gallon 2 fish lots of room!:)

  • @Hothits2000 WOW! thats loads of space, 10 inches of fish (total) in a 16 gallon, a little overstocked i think but oh well

  • @Hothits2000 Not always. Depends on the fish.

  • Your tank is WAY overstocked!! Mollies need to be in 30 Gallon tanks, gouramis and bettas CAN NOT be kept together under any circumstances and loaches get huge!

  • Ya I hav 10 gal and two clown loaches and some other fish and I am aware, they get big!!! ( I will sell mine when to big)

  • YOU HAVE TWO CLOWN LOACHES IN A 16 GAL?!!? They grow to be huge! Otherwise, pretty good tank.

  • You have way to man fish

  • do you name your fish? I like to name mine. I have a molly and a platy. Bo and Honey I call them.

  • a little overstocked and they clown loach get massive be warned lol, nicely decorated and good selection of fish though.

  • How is this tank doing now? I was just wondering because it looks pretty crowded...and I always over crowd my tanks too lol.....i think its all about having a good filter mainly. Beautiful color selections though!

  • but verry beautiful nun the less! :D

  • really like it! ^_^ I think it has a few to many fish though, from my point of vew. 030

  • Would Anyone recommend Red Crab? (to put in my tank?) its about 5 cm... Lol tiny

  • Remove the clown loaches if you' re gonna get real plants. They' ll destroy them

  • Very pretty tank, love all the different colors

  • You should get into real plants. Fake plant so ugly and feel unnatural for the fish. I have 50g tank with plenty of real plants and my fish love to sleep on the leaves every night when I turn off the light.

  • Gorgeous tank, however it's way too overcrowded. You're only supposed to have 1 inch of fish per gallon with about 2 inches to spare.

  • veri gud)))))

  • aren't they Pakistani loaches?

  • these are clown loaches.

  • are they tiger barbs or clown loaches

  • a lil bit crowded

  • They must not be put with fish that it can nip or get nipped. For example, angelfish and guppies and no more than 1 fighter per tank.

  • do siamese fighter dont eat other fish?

  • Then, then, then, then, then.

  • It looks beautiful. I hope you stay on top of cleaning it :)

  • It takes 65 years for them to grow to a foot. I will buy another tank after 50 years.

  • @mdcosta76 actually within a year they will be significantly too big for a 10 gallon aquarium like this one.

    I'd say 55 gallon+ for clown loaches

  • Those clown loaches grow up to a foot long each need to be in groups of 6 and need a tank over a 100gallons. That tank is over crowded just saying...

  • Elite filter that came with the aquarium.

  • Nice aquarium, hey buddy, what filter are you using?

  • Nice tank but just so you know, you should have only 1" of fish per gallon of water. Having too many fish in the tank can lead to problems such as spiked ammonia levels, waste buildup even with a filter, and fish stress and illness. Try getting a bigger tank or get rid of some of those fish. Good luck! :)

  • Nice aquarium!!!

  • weekly water changes, siphon the sand, feed 4 times a week only, mixture of flake, frozen, dried frozen food, live brine and bloodworms, plenty of plants.

  • wow i wish my tank was like that mines weak and artificial any tips please

  • Is the water current too powerful for those guys? Nice tank!!

  • way overstocked

  • really nice! I love platies

  • are all the fish have the same food if so they it the food that u put in it and if it it differnet food how the it it if it is differnt anwser me by

  • looks cool but a bit to many fish for a 16 gallon

  • Is the yellow fish at the bottom the betta fish?

  • Onee Werd :

    CROWDED

    -iWiShh uu Luck (:

  • THAT BETTER NOT BE A CLOWN LOACH I SEE. They need HUGE tanks. Do you KNOW how big they get? ASS HOLE. Learn how to PROPERLY care for fish before buying any!

  • @12512cool HOW BOUT YOU GO FUCK YOURSELF YOU PETA FREAK, THEYRE JUST FUCKING FISH AND ITS AN AWESOME TANK.

  • @muhcocksafloppin I'm not part of PETA, dumb fuck. It's a piece of SHIT tank. And they're not 'just fish' they're LIVING, BREATHING creatures. How about I put you in a 10 gallon tank and see how the fuck you like it? Go kill yourself before making dumb ass comments like I'm sure you ALWAYS do.

  • i <3 your selections. such cute fishies :)

  • omg we have exactly the same type of fish .

  • looks great!

  • beatfull

  • thats a beautiful tank. You should check out my latest update on my 30 gallon

aqaurium and let me know what you think

  • Beautiful:)))

  • hey are those real plants? If so, how do you make them suckers grow? I just plopped mine under the gravel, been there for a few weeks now, My last water change I took it out and seems the roots are growing.

  • cool fish i like your orange platies

  • I have 3 Bumblebee platys in my 15 gallon. What else do you think I can add? I might do the same sort of set up as you. But 4 Platys, 1 Male betta, 1 Black molly, 1 Silver molly, 4 Bronze corydora's and 5 neon's.

  • Thanks for all your comments and rating my tank. My experience is just 18 months in this hobby.

  • one of the best tanks ive seen so far keep up the good work

  • i looooove those colors

  • I have that tank, isnt it the elite style 60. i realy like it.

  • yes it is.

  • the loaches can grow to about 30 cm so this tank is wway to small for them

  • They have been replaced by 2 tiny baby loaches. They are the only ones effective on snails so I have no choice but to keep them.

  • I get so anoyed by people that comment and criticize, he/she probablyknows they grow big he may be upgrading soon god! get off his back

  • @mil6507 I have a tank full of 1-3cm snails, I'm thinking of getting loaches too, but won't they choke on those snails?

  • Loaches don't eat the shell just the meat so no they won't choke. They have been made to conquer snails.

  • @mil6507 Thanks for your reply, sweet, I'm getting me some loaches, do you want to sell yours?

  • I am in London, UK. Selling my entire tank due to new baby's arrival. I've posted it on ebay. Its a steal with tank, fish and everything that comes with it.

  • @mil6507 Hey, I am in London too, where about are you located? I saw your tank, but I'm only after clown loaches, will you be willing to split them, if yes how much would you want for you loaches?

    Thanks

  • your tank looks awesome. Your loaches look tike they're having a fun time surfing!

  • they love that current haha

  • Very nice aquarium. Very active! I want to keep this much in my 16 gallon tank too once it finishes cycling but people keep telling me it would be overstocked. So I guess if you keep up with weekly water changes and have a good filter system, it can be possible to keep this much fish? How much percent of weekly water change do you perform by the way?

  • To be honest, I don't do weekly water changes anymore as I have 2 other marine tanks. My advise from experience is that keep lots of live plants & feed sparingly. Plants are expensive & live around 6 months & the vitamin (Plantamin) with every water change is quite expensive. Every 3 months, remove carbon filtration & treat with general tonic. Platies, swordtails, silver mollies, fighter fish are quite hardy but they will all die after around 2 years which seems to be their average lifespan.

  • is it a little over stocked? or is this a good amount? just curious cuz i have a 20 gal and wanted to know if I can keep this many. Thanks! Also, do loaches do ok with the baby mollies? they dont eat them?

  • Baby mollies are in the baby trap until they grow bigger than the loaches' mouths.

I do weekly water changes and feed a varied diet of very expensive food. Not sure if that is the reason I've got so many but not had any problems.

  • Very nice like ur swordtails

  • Hey, just curious if you had any trouble with your betta acclimating to his tankmates. I've never seen one in such a large community like that before!

  • Never had any problems. Just went with the convention of no angelfish or guppies with Betta. The only fish he attacks is me when I clean the tank. He is quite protective of the tank.

  • your a fish?

  • Not sure how big your tank is but I have a stingray filter that came with the tank and its on full flow directed towards the length of the tank. Also, I have plenty of live plants which help in stemming the flow and the fish love hiding in there if they are bullied or need to settle down.

  • do your fish love the fast flow coz i have mollys neons platy and catfish and i am undecided as to how high a rate i shud put my filter. Theyre only small and i dont want them to struggle, any ideas?

  • siamese fighter and guppies/angelfish will fight to the finish. From my experience don't get spotted mollies as they were very aggressive and 1 male can stress up to 3 females to death. Bad experience with penguin tetras as well. Grows quick and can bully a medium sized silver molly. Clown loaches a must if keeping plants as snails will travel with the plants.

  • Actually, it really depends on the betta. Some bettas are more gentle in nature, and they will not harm a guppy, some are a little more aggressive and may nip at their tails from time-to-time, some are very aggressive and will completely rip their fins off. My friend is keeping my betta with her guppies, and for the first couple months, he tried to rip their tails off, but now he's perfectly fine.

  • how is everyone doing now that it's several months later. Everyone still alive? I am about to start a community tank in a 28 gallon bowfront and wanted to know if anyone in this tank didn't get along with someone else. Thanks.

  • the loaches have been replaced by 2 tiny baby loaches. Very effective in keeping snails out so will always be a part of my tank.

  • your clown loaches would need a bigger tank, when they grow bigger :-)

  • wtf no guppies

  • due to siamese fighter.

  • my bubbles my bubbles

  • Plants are real. A few are over 8 months old but most get eaten up by the fish within 4 months.

  • That looks great for a 16g. Are those plants real?

  • nice tnak must of been expensive tho looks it

  • Nice tank! You might need to get a bigger one, I think loaches grow to 12 inches long.

  • He has plenty of time. I've got two clowns also. They don't grow too quickly.

  • Nice tank! Nice clown loaches!

  • Thanks.
