Don't know why there isn't any airplay on this song from 1975: So many sorts can relate to it.
This song is an underappreciated real memoir, reflection of success and failure factors, with a gentler, mellow yet inobtrusive melody. This song is a parable - All you need to do well is to fully confidently be around the real-right person, at the right time, under the right circumstances, with the right timing.
Wonder if Please Come to Boston would have been written if it weren't for this song, verse #__ @ 2:32 in particular? - Might seem an odd notion.. but seems there's a kind of circular interaction that happens. (These days for example popular music that charts is on a downward spiral!)
...During the 1st chorus I was wondering if "I know you're tired of following My Elusive Dreams & schemes" made this song possible. But then I decided that was a bit far fetched :)
I met him years ago in a convenience store next door to FAME Recording Studio. He was sitting on an upturned milk crate talking to the cashier. Very nice man. I love this song. I remember seeing Helen Reddy do it on a t.v. special years ago, but Mac does it sooooo much better.
i was listening to mac in the 5th grade. love his music. Thank a trip to walmart is needed for a cd or tape of Mac. wonder if walmart knows who Mac Is. think not.
