well the 7 and 8th graders sang this song and on da first part and a little bit in the da middle these girls sang a solo and it was so good i just came back from the concert!
my school was thinking of playing this in fifth grade... my music teacher played it for us, and i still remember this song after two years... im so glad i found it!
Well for that many kids that amazing. The middle school choir did that song when i was in 8th grade but i hear its a high school song. Our Choir director is all about doing older song our jv highschool choir is sing blow thou winter wind... another college song... its crazy but our choir catches on pretty quick so its not to bad... but this is the video i watched to get the lyrics when i was working on it. BRAVO!!!
Then the wind will set me racing as my journey nears its end. And the path I'll be retracing when I'm homeward bound again. Bind me not to the pasture, chain me not to the plow. Set me free to find my calling and I'll return to you somehow.
In the quiet misty morning when the moon has gone to bed, When the sparrows stop their singing, I'll be homeward bound again.
Bind me not to the pasture, chain me not to the plow. Set me free to find my calling and I'll return to you somehow. If you find it's me you're missing, if you're hoping I'll return. To your thoughts I'll soon be list'ning, and in the road I'll stop and turn.
i sang this song for a contest in school and got second division for state (if you know music you know thats really good) but i really like this song i think its a lot of fun to sing :D
I agree it is a beautiful song, and the choir did a beautiful job, but i prefer it sung as a solo. I sang it as a solo and i am not saying i was better becuase i was just as good as anyone but the song is more prevelent when sung with a singular tenor voice. sorry just a different taste i guess.
I sang this song when I was in ninth grade chorus in high school. It's a beautiful song, but it's very sad in some way. I don't know if it's the words or the music that make the song so sad-maybe it's both the words and music. The part that says "If you find it's me you're missing" is very sad.
damn good singing however got dizzy staning on my head trying to look at the video and passed out and broke my computer... who the hell took this video should be stick beat
The kids from my highschool already knew it, but everyone else in the choir only had four days to do it...So they were probably focusing on other things? I agree with you though. This song means the word to me.
I took this to a solo and ensamble fest about 3 years ago and I have fallen in love with this song. There's such powerful meaning behind it. You guys did a wonderful job!!!!!
When I went to an Honors Choir here in Georgia, the choir that my friends were in sang this, and IT WAS GREAT. This brings back sooo many memories. Thank you soooo much!!!!!
haha, I have many many recordings of it. My middle school choir always did it. Especially the year our teacher left us... meant alot to us. Your welcome ;)

Homeward Bound
In the quiet misty morning when the moon has gone to bed, When the sparrows stop their singing and the sky is clear and red.
When the summer's ceased its gleaming, When the corn is past its prime, When adventure's lost its meaning, I'll be homeward bound in time.
