  • G'day Oystersb, can you give me a tip on how to make the fly unloop at the end of a cast, when I try to distance cast my mono is always in a bunch at the end.

    Thanks

  • insane! nice

  • That's impressive Bill!

A couple folks were trying to get me and you rounded up to cast at Rivers Way's event back in July. They wanted to see if I could cast a bamboo rod as far as you can. I've never casted a boo rod that was made for longer distances. The ones I have thrown were at the Charlotte Show and they weren't really that stiff in the butt section. I could get them out of the pond but it took a two back casts to do it.

  • Sounds like a bamboo challenge in the works. Winner buys the beer!

  • what kind of real is that on your rod.

I will be picking up one of your rods soon they truely are a work of art

    Cheers pal.

  • Thanks ja4me, the reel is a Peerless 1.5 by Bob Corsetti of New Hampshire.

  • Thanks bill

Love the tune by the way

    Reminds me of home.

  • Awesome casting skills.

  • Full marks for that boyo :)

  • That is amazing i bought my first Rod & reel the Other days,(Just a cheap $40 one) I love to do it, How much does a Bamboo one cost? I may get rid of my rod and bring it to the Hunting Camp and buy one of these.

  • Bamboo fly rods can be found in all price ranges. The one I'm casting is quite expensive but for a new fly fisherman there are many less expensive rods which will serve you well. There are a lot of classic cane rods in the $200 range which would be a good place to start. It's not the price that matters, it's the fun!

  • Well - usually the line should lie in a straight line ;-))

No, I was just kiddin' - marvellous casts with an unblieveable rod !

I like the Wulff TT for coastal fishing on sea trout. What do you think about the S A Expert Anglers ? Better than the Scientific Anglers ? How "behaves" she in strong winds ?

    Would appreciate your comment ;-))

Thank you very much for posting your videos and warm greetings from Denmark ;-))

  • Hello goeddoek, and sorry for the slow reply. I'm afraid I don't have much fishing experience with the SA lines. I am much more of a fan of the TT lines when actually on the water, where 30' casts for stream trout are my favorite game.

    Tight Lines, from the U.S.

  • Hello.

    Your casting is splendid.

    A dog else is pretty.

Is this a dog of what kind? .

  • Thanks hisuycast. I enjoy your spey casting as well. The dog in the video is Yogi and he is never far from my feet. He is a large chocolate Pomeranian which we keep shaved due to the warm summers here in north Georgia.

  • What is the taper on that bad boy?

  • It is a taper of my own design. Basically a stiff butted progressive action rod I use for hucking streamers from a drift boat.

  • Thx!

  • Great casting what kind of line do you use`?

  • 90' Wulff TT 6wt in the first series, and a 120' Scientific Anglers Expert Distance 6wt. on the final cast.

  • Btw, What is the name of the song?

  • The song is called "The Wicker Creel". It's a traditional Irish tune.

  • Great

  • Suhweet Bill Oh! Impressive boo.........
