  • Sam, Thanks for posting ths. it is a Legend. I like it more than any other you tube weeding postings.

  • Ethiopian woman are among the most 'naturally' beautiful women in the world!

  • What a cerimony. a tradition.. I love especally the traditional dress par (with the Kabba on and the crons) - The inviated persons all in white with the traditional clothes (hand made /hand wooven cottons and decorated by han )What else we need ?

  • Nice perfect video.. 5 stars.. wow. I have to copy you and make a wedding video as well with the Song Yitbark by Taddesse Alemu.. I love Mahamud but sorry he is not my favorite wedding singer...

  • Can everyone stop complain and just enjoy this beautiful music and pictures . Ugh! So freaking annoying. Thank you to whoever post this. I enjoyed it.

  • Thanks for your comment, Ashangulit. People need to sometimes shut up and just appreciate good music when they see it. This is Ethiopian culture. That does not mean it is the only type of Ethiopian culture. Tigray is Ethiopia. Amhara is Ethiopia. Oromia is Ethiopia. And so on. Just appreciate good music.

    SMG

  • i agree ashangulit..

  • Listen If its called Ethiopian Wedding it doesnt mean Amharic is the only one...but it is true amara is the most popular culture..so instead of complaining lets represent the unrepresented..and know that no mattter what we need to fight for Ethiopia as a hole..BC when her children suffer she(Ethiopia) doesnt appriciate that...Thank you

  • Ethiopia may be different languages and sub-cultures. But even each tribe- like, for example Oromo- have different sub-divisions--in other words- there are many different Oromo. if one talks about how one is different from another, it is only hurtful and divisive of Ethiopian peoples. BTW- The religion is the Christ which unifies all peoples. Islam and Protestantism are imported by haters of Christian unity. Imported by US tax dollars excused as "cultural diversity" and by past Turkish invasion

  • There are more than 80 different lingual and cultural diversities in Ethiopia. Yet when Amhara people talk about Ethiopia they always think it is all about Amharic and Amhara people. The arrogance, vanity and stupidity of these people. This video does not represent the hole of Ethiopia, it represents Amharic culture. The name Ethiopia belongs to everyone, to every Ethiopian. It does not just belong to one culture or religion. Get it right!

  • The bride is pretty.

  • LOVE THIS SONG

    i love my culture..soooo much..

  • I may not understand the language but the music is beautiful. I'm African American and I'm loving this song. The beat just swings and the singing is so passionate. The pictures are just as beautiful.

  • one of the pics is a pic of a somali woman dancing and other somali women singing

  • then it looks like you dont want to acknowledge other cultures in ethiopia...well at least you had hararis in it...better then nothing

  • what is this, did you forget there are also muslim ethiopians, all i see are a lot of christian orthodox, even the artist of this song is muslim

  • i did notice there are hararis though, thats all the muslims there are, good song nonetheless

  • Hi fikle,

You're wrong. Actually, Mahmoud Ahmed is an Ethiopian Orthodox Christian. He was Muslim but converted to Christianity a while ago.

  • either way, you didnt include any muslim culture

  • And? What's your point? This is a personally created flick, I can do it as I please.

  • I agree!

  • i here she fucked for 3 birr sex worker now married........nice story

  • Okay, I'm a little puzzled here. This does not sound like anytrhing else Ethiopian that I have heard. From which ethnic group does this come? It sounds almost Arabic, in the vocal style, rythm and instrumentation.

  • It's amharic....I guess the style is different b/c it's a wedding song....it's almost like wedding music has its own genre

  • Ethiopian wedding songs are very different!

  • @leftysergeant

how can this not sound ethiopian? Everything from the beats to the vocals is soo like the older ethiopian songs.

  • @bolelij I am not as familiar as I would like with all Ethiopian traditions, but there is much about this that resembles some of the Egyptian music I have heard. (I know very little Arabic and nearly no Amharic.) The saxaphone definitely suggested early twentieth-century Egyptian styles that I have heard. Clearly the cultures of Egypt and Ethiopia have some of the same roots and have been subject to some of the same external influences and borrowings.

  • thanks for posting this great song !!!!!! nice song god bless Ethiopia and Ethiopians

  • What is the name of this tune?

  • It's called: Lomiwen Tèqèbèlètch

The album is: Ethiopiques, Vol. 3: Golden Years of Modern Ethiopian Music

    The singer is: Mahmoud Ahmed

  • Loveyl music thanks for sharing!

  • I am proud to be ethiopian look how beautiful we are....

  • can you give me lyrics to like a wedding song?! PLZ like a really popular one?! im jamaican but im ethiopian orthodox! me and my cousins and brothers sing ALL OVER THE US! mayb u saw us b4! well thanx i look ethiopian though!
