  • The Hatch is the best looking Subie.

  • are you going to do any appearance mods any time soon?

  • @TruAzn100 he has check his thread on club wrx right under the like bar

  • @TruAzn100 Like what?

  • Sounds like an adolescent V8

  • Do Exhaust systems affect anything aside from...sound? I hate to be so clueless but I'm just wondering?

  • @Ollie100111 on a turbo car, it makes a nice difference on power, but only with a tune. In his case he is using the cobb access port to reflash his car. so maybe about 15 to 20 WHP. something you can definitely feel.

  • @Ollie100111 Of course bro. Exhaust free's up the flow of the heat from the engine. Air comes in, there's an explosion, and then there is exhaust. All car's from the factory come with restricted exhaust so they run cleaner, and they all have a catyltic converter, which is in a sense, a filter. Taking it out free's up the flow and makes the car faster

  • @ShawnSubaru Okay. See that is the best explanation I've heard. And so a "Cat-back" retains the catalytic converter and just changes the rest of the exhaust from the catalytic converter "back?"

  • @Ollie100111 Precisely, a cat back is after the catlytic converter, cuz some cars have resonators and some big canisters that quiet the flow, so a cat back is a common mod for sound, and might free up a couple of horsepower. If you get a full exhaust, you have to retune the car, like fastflat4 said. All cars are programmed to run a certain way, taking out the cat, makes it run different and can mess up the car if the car isn't retuned.

  • @ShawnSubaru Yes, the downpipe (exhaust immediately after the turbo) is what free's up the power on this car. It will require a tune, but you should see significant gains in power. The cat back makes very little difference in power, but a significant difference in sound. Even on a 400+ WHP setup, the stock cat back exhaust does not pose a significant restriction.

  • @xluben ahhh okay. Learn something new everyday. Thanks (y)

  • Winter Steelies!

  • rodas de ferro?

  • Sounds nice! I just finally got my Perrin CBE on my 2011 WRX Sedan. I also have the Perrin dp. 3 inch diameter all the way down. Divorced wastegate for the DP. I love the sound.

  • @TheGTIJuggalo Can you post a video of your exhaust? Im looking at the stage 2 package from perrin, which is basically their dp and cb exhaust like you have. Would be nice to hear it. thanks

  • @wsharp23 I posted a video of my exhaust today. Under Perrin Exhaust...let me know what you think

  • is the DP catted?

  • Did you tune through an accessport?

  • sounds perfect, I want mine to sound like that! Quick question, is the cobb downpipe you installed catless? Also does it bolt right up to the SPT exhaust or do I need an adaptor?

  • @garrettej8 The COBB downpipe is catted. It does not need any adapter to be installed on the stock or SPT exhaust.

  • That is a gorgeous sound.

  • Can you give me some details on your snow wheel set up? links?

    thanks

  • @nordicjim He has General Altimax Arctic tires in 215/55R16 on black steelies.

  • so this is what sex sounds like?

  • @TheDAnKMiLk no, hopefully you will find out what that sounds like one day.

  • @TheDAnKMiLk Better!!! lol, pretty equal though!

  • I ended up buying an evo, trying to find a white STI in Texas was too tough. Couldn't be happier

  • thts the stock hood scoop... or at least thts how mine came... is urs catless i love the sounds and i have the identicle car and would like it to sounds the same...

  • Are you happy with the WRX. Im trying to decide whether to buy the WRX that is at my local dealership or order an STI.

  • @mer476 If the extra money wouldn't be missed...get an STI.

  • @mer476 You may have bought one by now but you have to go with the STi.......I had an 08 WRX sedan and just recently bought a 2011 STI sedan....the difference is HUGE!!!!.....Its a freaking race car!!!.....The traction control along with the differential settings have kept me on the road and not into a tree....it was my second reconstructed Subaru I bought from Silverlineautomotive for $27000......check em out....

  • @grove1104 You are comparing apples to oranges here. The 2008 wrx is nowhere near the same car as the 2011 wrx which is shown in this video. In 2009 the wrx was heavily upgraded with a new engine that is rated 265 hp. In 2011 the wrx was equipped with the same wide track as the STI. If you owned a 2011 wrx and compared it to your 2011 sti you would be suprised that the difference is not that huge. Yes I can agree the 2008wrx compared to an STI is night and day, but this video is a 2011...

  • @fickel88 You are right....the 08 to 11 wrx difference is huge and I realize the 11 wrx is not much different than the sti.....but you will notice I only mentioned the traction control and differential button setup as the main reasons to get the sti....the sti allows you to drive like a maniac and get away with it...the wrx I wouldnt have the confidence to drive the way I have driven in my sti....plus the brembos are insane. Though I do have the roads to take advantage of the sti's features...

  • @grove1104 Lucky, Kansas is (thumbs down) for hills and twists. Don't get me wrong I love the STI and it is perfect for that time you push the car hard, not to mention the rock solid tranny. What have you done to your STI, or is it kept stock?

  • @fickel88 My STi is all stock, I would love the accessport but I'll wait for $600 to appear. I think a smarter first purchase would be a passport 9500ix. It may have been usefull a while ago when I was clocked going 70 and decided to run....yes I got away...he was driving in the opposite lane towards me and I decided f@ck a ticket and downshifted to 3rd....my friend was pissing his pants...I couldnt because I was giggling the whole time...

  • 0:13-0:16=sexxxxx

  • that sounds so good

  • Not to be personal but how much did tou pay for this entire car?

  • @TheTomahawkninja i got mine new for 24k

  • @freddy121389 no you didnt

  • catless?

  • Can you tell me what size those winter tires are? And are those the steel wheels from Tire rack?

  • how do you get that phhhheeeewwwww sound?

  • @johnpark219 That's simply the turbo spinning down. That can be heard if you install an aftermarket downpipe (catless or catted) and a aftermarket cat back.

  • @johnpark219 Ever heard of a turbo?

  • @StarclassicD yea. i have one in my car.

  • Very nice video, thanks for posting. Sounds only slightly different than my 2010 with an Invidia dp and SPT catback. Very nice.

  • sounds like absolute sex

  • What did you get those steelies off of?!?!?

    Please tell me.

  • @FullyBuiltKA TireRack.com

  • That last pic looks amazing!

  • i have a wrx 2010 and i wanna put an spt

  • sounds sweet

  • 300whp?

  • @xSlickNick5x 265

  • Sounds great! I want this exact set up for my STi

  • shoot i was just in this car 3 days ago, tuning ahaha, feels nice, about to get me one soon.

  • How much did this cost? for everything. Sounds good man i just got a new wrx hoping to do the same thing.

  • steel wheels?!?!

  • @r3838 are awesome?

  • @r3838 Winter wheels? Dumbass.

  • @r3838 Must have never been in the snow...

  • wow car's all healed from accident and everything and already on stage 2! what tune are you using?

  • How is the cabon noise with the downpipe and the exhaust?

  • Man thats loud for an spt!

  • That scene at the end makes me wish I was still living in PA. :( Georgia doesn't get a whole lot of snow, so I won't have as much fun with my new WRX when I get it. It'll still be a blast, but that car is meant to take on the snow along with the other elements.

  • @Robflesh Haha we just got a whole LOAD of snow here in GA!

    snownuts in the parking lot!!!

  • @Chonj92 Hell yeah! Too bad I didn't take advantage of that opportunity. :( I was impressed how well I was able to go up some icy hills. I thought I'd be screwed because of the summer tires, but I had no problems. I have over 230 miles on my new Scooby, so I got awhile before it's broken in.

  • @Robflesh haha yea just got mine a couple months ago too. i love it!

    enjoy your ride! :D

  • now get a 2step

  • that snow is just asking for you to go have fun xP

  • STOP MAKING ME SO JEALOUS

  • good grief that hood scoop is fuckinnnn huge!!!!!!!!!!

  • @airjordan777lt777 Yep, youre about 10 years old.

  • you should merge a video of all 3 clips. stock, spt and stage 2
