Just for the Record, The Ancients were already in the Pegasus galaxy long before they evacuated the Milky Way galaxy. If you can remember an Episode in S.4 of Atlantis called 'Harmony' Shepard and Mckay discover the ancients testing ground for drones.

Now seeing as Atlantis and the Ancients outpost on Earth already had drones and the ancients it could make more sense as to how the Wraith came about. With the majority of ancients in the milkway its more concievable that the evolution of the wraith had gone unoticed by the ancients until they evacuated our galaxy to escape their disease, By which time the wraith could have advanced to stage where they could use the stargates and grasp interstellar travel.

u see the The Ancients when Atlantis was being attacked by the wraith they could always win the battle however more keep on coming but would it just make more sense instead of leaving Atlantis just2 fly it away 2 another plant or just use it 2 fight the wraith.

The only problem for the ancients was that Atlantis was constantly under seige by a massive wraith fleet in orbit over Lantia. Now if they tried to fly the city out of there the power required for the stardrive would begin to drain away from the ZPM not to mention the wraith fleet would probably continue to fire on the city as it rises into the planets atmosphere..

Alterans means "the others", and is the name the Ori gave to the scientists of their race who refused to bow bown to their religious delusions. These scientists fled to the Milky Way Galaxy, and after millions of years there became known as the Ancients for their extreme antiquity. In their lanaguage, Ancients is spelled "Anqueetas". So the Alterans went to Pegasus and settled in the planet Lantea, and thus became known as the Lanteans. However, their true name is Altera, and not Lanteans.

actually Alterans are the race when the ancients and the Ori still were one, they are actually called the Lanteans.

No the Alterans were the group that split from the Ori. They were once one race however that changed when Religion and Science came into conflict. The Alterans looked to science and the Ori well we know what they had planned. The Alterans being who they were did not use their technology to defend against the Ori whom out numbered them so they left their galaxy in their Early version of a city ship and made Earth along with the milky way their new home in pursuit of science and knowledge.

Well, I always thought Ori use science as much as Alterans do/did, but they use it for bad purpose (and "religion" is just brainwashing idea to take control over all the intelligent species and use their devotion as a kind of energy source; it has been told in the movie). AFAI understand, relation between Ori and Alterans is similar to the relation between the Goa'uld and the Tok'ra (at least in the ethical sense).

I always thought that by the time the Ancients got to Pegasus their race as a whole was already on the decline either due to the plague or them ascending. So Atlantis was really the only major place where the Ancients had significant presence in the Pegasus Galaxy. This, coupled with the characteristics of the Wraith, sadly meant that they couldn't win the war no matter how superior they were.

I have said it several times that I regard the Ancients to be far more interesting than the Tau'ri, Wraith, Goa'uld, Ori, etc. I would love to see a series about them arriving at the Milky Way and seeding millions of planets with life, etc. Or better yet, a series showing their 100 years long fight against the Wraith. How could they lose since thei tech was so far superior and they were a much older and wiser race than the Wraith? The stock excuse is sheer numbers, but I'm not buying.

Ya, but you can't compare the Ancient's situation to that of the Tollan. the Tollan were restricted to a single planet, while the Ancients had an entire galaxy. And then there's the fact that Ancient tech is far more powerful than that of the Tollan. Just look at how Anubis' Ha'taks with upgraded shields could resist the Tollan's ion cannons, but the Ancients' drone weapon teared Anubis fleet to shreds. The Ancients are a much grander, older, more powerful and advanced civilization than the TL

The wraith lured the aincents to bring their most powerfull warships (with ZPM's) deep into Wraith territory and there they would be destroyed/Captured by superior numbers, then the wraith used the zpm's for their cloning technology and that way they always had more soldiers/ships then the ainchents :)

They also stole technology from the aincents as i understand it (alot of their technology is similar)

No, that was a terrible explanation. Hwo can you capture ships with ZPMs in the first place, since the ZPM makes the shields and weapons uber powerful? Then there's the fact that the ZPMs did not allow the Wraith to make more ships, but only more Wraith. How is making more Wraith relevant since most battles are fought in space with ships and not on the ground with troops. Just admit that the writers didn't think about it and be done with it, dude.

Becuase altho the ancients killed more wraith than they lost they couldnt win the war as there were many more wraith. for example the ancients could destory 3 hives to every auroa that they lost but they would still lose the war, its like shepard said in the siege part 2 the ancients won nearly every battle but they couldnt win the war. hope this helps
