I'm a salvatore shipper and I want happiness for the brothers and with elena in the middle neither one of them will ever truly be happy.. @airoes96 I think Elijah will come around. After all he is a man who keeps his word and he didn't keep his word about killing Klaus so he will probably see what kind of person Klaus really are. I'm not assuming a thing the fact is that damon CHOSE to get close to elena knowing she was in a relationship with his brother and knowing how much stefan loves elena.. He CHOSE to chase after her despite the fact that he hated stefan for doing the same with katherine.. Damon loved katherine and hated stefan for coming between them yet he chooses to do the same thing to stefan.. So yes he had a choice to let his brother find happiness with the girl he loved or interfere and he CHOSE to interfere

Or the fact that he was ready to help Elena find Stefan the whole summer long? He tried to take a beat for 2 seasons and a half. Now he kissed her, that was one step towards her...but he still feels guilty for loving Elena.

Granted he tried to kiss her in 1x3 but that was just to mess with stefan, he wasn't in love with her then. But as he got to know Elena and realized that Katherine wasn't in love with him, he slowly grew founder of Elena. We can't help how we feel.

OK let's revise everything...Katherine showed up and hooked up with Stefan first, then Damon showed up and he also hooked up with Katherine. Katherine played with the brothers. She screwed up and they ended up vampires. Stefan started living his life, Damon got obsessed with Katherine and tried everything to free her out of the tomb. 150 years later Stefan is back in Mystic Falls and falls for Elena and Elena for him. Then Damon showed up and he was "I want Katherine back, no matter what!"
@rozichkaaa actually stefans original attraction to elena was because she looked like katherine (he admitted that) so maybe he hadnt moved on and "started living his life" as much as you say. yeah damon wanted katherine back... he was infatuated with her.. believed he loved her until he felt what real love was like with elena.if your going to revise "everything" - try and make it alttle less stelena biased or atleast state it as your opinion :)

You know what I'm done with this argument because at the end to me all that matters is damon finding someone that will love him truly and completely and that will never be elena so I hope he can repair his relationship with his brother because at least stefan seems to really care about him enough to repeatedly save his life.. In 2x18 Damon says that he's okay being the bad guy because at the end of the day he'll be the one to save elena while stefan is worried about collateral damage (he would have told elena about bonnie not being dead). And Damon gives elena vampire blood because he thinks it's the only way he can save her even if he knows that elena will hate him for it. I think Damon is willing to sacrifice a lot more than Stefan!
@msjanebronte Thing is the same with Stefan.I think that when Klaus fall,he will take Stefan down with him,Stefan probably would beat Klaus,and he knows that everybody would hate him because of he's methods.But at the end of day ,he will be the one who will save them from Klaus.Stefan now is sacrificing more,Damon now is the one who wants to be good in Elena's eyes.Stefan sacrifice a lot for Damon,he sacrifice his own life,his girlfriend,his beliefs,his freedom.

In 3x10 Damon was even mad at Stefan because he chose his own brother before killing Klaus when it all could have been over. Conclusion: Damon would have rather died so Klaus would be dead instead of Stefan saving him! =)

I'm not assuming a thing the fact is that damon CHOSE to get close to elena knowing she was in a relationship with his brother and knowing how much stefan loves elena.. He CHOSE to chase after her despite the fact that he hated stefan for doing the same with katherine.. Damon loved katherine and hated stefan for coming between them yet he chooses to do the same thing to stefan.. Granted he tried to kiss her in 1x3 but that was just to mess with stefan, he wasn't in love with her then. But as he got to know Elena and realized that Katherine wasn't in love with him, he slowly grew founder of Elena. We can't help how we feel.

OK let's revise everything...Katherine showed up and hooked up with Stefan first, then Damon showed up and he also hooked up with Katherine. Katherine played with the brothers. She screwed up and they ended up vampires. Stefan started living his life, Damon got obsessed with Katherine and tried everything to free her out of the tomb. 150 years later Stefan is back in Mystic Falls and falls for Elena and Elena for him. Then Damon showed up and he was "I want Katherine back, no matter what!"

@princess1382 Maybe or maybe not. As I recall Elena fell for Stefan first not for Damon...Damon went after Elena not vice versa...and Damon should have backed off when his feelings wasn't so strong...I can tell from experience, believe me.

@rozichkaaa loving stefan first does not diminish the fact she doesnt love damon now, he may have gone after her but he also compelled her to forget his love and told her stefan deserves her more than himself. he shouldnt have to back off, stefans love is not worth more or is any more credible than damons love for elena. ultimately she'll have to decide who she loves more, history won't come into it and neither will any one of our own experiences.

@princess1382 Yes she cares for him but the difference between loving somebody and caring for somebody is enormous. You can care deeply for somebody, but it doesn't mean that you love him, right? You can be attracted to somebody and not to love him...Personally I think that Elena is little girl torn between two grown up men and the situation is out of her control...

You know what I'm done with this argument because at the end to me all that matters is damon finding someone that will love him truly and completely and that will never be elena so I hope he can repair his relationship with his brother because at least stefan seems to really care about him enough to repeatedly save his life.. That's the love story that really matters

@princess1382 Stefan didn't risk his life?Like I said The tomb,in 2x8 "I can't think of a better reason to die.",Stefan would risk much more for both of them,he risk his freedom for Damon,in 3x05-"i would do whatever you what just let her go." ,tried to kill himself before bitting her,In 3x09 he got his freedom,not humanity.Stefan struggles too,in 3x03 he said that he didn't want to see her,just because of her safety.He have to be saparete from her,just because he had a deal with Klaus.

In 2x18 Damon says that he's okay being the bad guy because at the end of the day he'll be the one to save elena while stefan is worried about collateral damage (he would have told elena about bonnie not being dead). And Damon gives elena vampire blood because he thinks it's the only way he can save her even if he knows that elena will hate him for it. I think Damon is willing to sacrifice a lot more than Stefan!

@msjanebronte Thing is the same with Stefan.I think that when Klaus fall,he will take Stefan down with him,Stefan probably would beat Klaus,and he knows that everybody would hate him because of he's methods.But at the end of day ,he will be the one who will save them from Klaus.Stefan now is sacrificing more,Damon now is the one who wants to be good in Elena's eyes.Stefan sacrifice a lot for Damon,he sacrifice his own life,his girlfriend,his beliefs,his freedom.

@airoes96 He doesn't do it for Elena! He does it for revenge, that's different, don't you see? Sure, as Damon said the bridge thing was a genius move but Stefan didn't apologize directly after. It was Damon who explained his brother's behaviour to Elena which made her forgive Stefan a little for what he did. Stefan apologized a long time after that.

I think it's better to face danger together than safety appart, don't you? @airoes96 For example: he helps Elena find Stefan several times even though he also loves her (don't forget in 3x2 the werewolf situation). He saves Stefan from the tomb vampires who tortures him... and so on. But on the other hand when has Damon ever asked to be saved? In 3x10 Damon was even mad at Stefan because he chose his own brother before killing Klaus when it all could have been over. Conclusion: Damon would have rather died so Klaus would be dead instead of Stefan saving him! =)

Or something to that effect but her failure to do so proves that she relishes in the attention she receives from both.. Just like katherine did.. @airoes96 i've not said stefan should back off, elena isn't with anyone so shes entitled to do as she wants. my original comment was in response to damon having to back off because shes stefans girl which i don't agree with for the reasons i stated before. actually i believe (in season 1).. because damon knew he couldnt have elena he turned to katherine to escape that. i think he thought he loved her but never knew what real love was/meant & felt like until elena - just my opinion.

@princess1382 Yeah,Damon turned to Katherine to escape his feelings for Elena,i certain that when he tried to turn her to treat Stefan in 1x13,it was act of love.Or when he said "I hope Elena dies in 1x14,it was act of love too.Maybe when she get into the tomb with Anna,and when she screamed Damon did what?He was so confussed by didn't find Katherine that it makes no impression that Elena was in danger,Stefan knew that he may not come out and joined the tomb just because he heard Elena's scream.
