I've watched a ton of these ssi videos and almost none of them involve shredding into a hopper. They must love having to clean up the mess. Or at least get a kick out of making their employee's clean it up.

The cell phone is probably there for size comparison. It is possible that is was in one of the washers, because smaller items fall through the holes and don't get shredded.

yamaguto - it all gets separated by further processes. This is a heckuva lot faster than physical disassembly..

Put in a 4034 alloy steel, 6 foot long, and 8" in diameter shaft, and I guarantee you this shredder will stall which will require them to remove the shaft.

Kevlar is a FABRIC.

The fabric is soft.

This will shred ANY soft thing.

The problem with shredding is when you have large hard objects. Like a solid piece of steel, or the counterweighs from those machines.

Awesome!, this is where a shredder really pays at the scrap yard!. fitting more scrap into the bins.

Almost as much fun as hot wiring the motor and chucking a block of concrete in at full RPM's :D

I think the dumping it on the floor is so it could be more easily sorted and then placed in appropriate containers.
