  • Hey, great playing.

I'm curious as to how you felt about the neck? Is it thin? I played one a few months ago and cannot remember what the neck was like except that it was thin.

  • @PierceCollinsGibson I'd alwayd felt it fits perfectly in my hand. But now you mention it, it is really thin!!

  • dude your improvising made me jizz in my pants. sounds sweet, what tuning are you in

  • It sounds very Gretch-like to me. But not in a twangy way. Were you only using the neck pickup?

  • I usually prefer the neck pickup.

  • where can you get any of the martin f series guitars from? I live in the u.k. there so nice but I know there very rare.

  • You are lucky if you can find one. "Only" 1600were made (500 with 1 PU; 600 w. 2PU; 500 w. 2PU + double cutaway) . I've seen only 2 on ebay in years. They were cheap though (500-700$).

  • yeh, I've been looking, there such cool guitars, but I don't think I am gonna get one aha. too hard to find, but cheers

  • i was extremely lucky to find my 2 PU double cutaway

  • Let's make a club!! :)

  • would you happen to know what pick ups those are?

  • Yes, they are DeArmond PU.

  • they were called Fideletone(Martin black trapezoid)...or Dynasonic pickups(Guild..white/chrome Gretsch..black/chrome)...a similar pickup was also found on Kustom guitars...hope this helps.A reissue(sort of)was found on the 1990's DeArmond guitars and there even was a "Telesonic" version of the Fender Telecaster in the earlier 90's.

  • Thanks for the info - I asked around locally and was told basically the same thing. I ended up taking the plunge on a new 335.

  • Can you compare the 'feel' of the F65 to a Gibson ES335? What are your thoughts?

  • I'd say there's no comparison possible between an ES and the Martin f-65. The sound of the Martin is much punchier, a bit like a ... banjo i'd say. More attack and less sustain. And the mikes are of a totally different kind too. Much crispier. It's more in the sound range of a Jaguar than of a Gibson. That's probably why F-65 never were very popular. It would'nt suit the sound of the 60s 70s. But for grunge, thats another story.

  • Not being rude or anything.. just pointing it out thats all.........

  • I don't own one.. my dad owns one, but he has taught me a lot about guitars, and i noticed that part, which i found out is called a "bigsby" Or however you spell it, is not on there.... yes i see the pickguard is gone too, forgot about that... Also just to point out something, see that "V" sign below your guitar....its more pointy and its empty inside it..... its got no fill, understand? its hollow..... the Martin F-65 is not hollow and has more of a curve to it with a "" bigsby" there.

  • That's not the F-65... the F-65 has that extra piece to it, i forget what its called... but i have the F-65 and that part on mine is there.. and yours doesn't have it.. which means.. yours isn't the F-65. Or did you take it off?

  • Thanks for commenting. I'm disapointed by your conclusions: they are as peremptory as incomplete. I know quality of the vid isn't very good, but if you noticed this lady has no *pickguard*, how could you not identify the other *extra pieces*? You own one! She definitely is a F65 (and it's written inside). They say "A tree can't hide the forest". I add "Can a pickguard hide a guitar"? I feel you aren't much used to guitars, am I right? F65 are special, rare too. Take good care of yours. Peace.
