  • Like If you think Baseball is the best sport ever made <3

  • Thanks What an amazing ballplayer. Great song and slideshow of the "greatest"

  • best ever

  • The all around ball player to ever grace the diamond.

Willie Mays was so fast that he could turn off the light and get into bed before it got dark.

To the best all around of all time.

    Long live Willie Mays

  • willie mays and mickey mantle. 1 and 2

  • Unquestionably the greatest all-around ballplayer to ever play the game. His 660 career homer total could've been at least another 150 dingers higher but for two years in the service and the Candlestick winds (before they completely closed the stadium). Happy Birthday Willie!!

  • Happy 80th Birthday, Willie!!

  • I'm a huge fan of Babe Ruth and everything that he accomplished. But...

to say he's the most complete player?! Come on. Willie Mays was the best ALL AROUND player to ever play the game. The Babe couldn't touch Willie in terms of baserunning and defense. When you look up 5-tool player in the dictionary and it's the face of Willie Mays that you should see. Speed, power, average, arm, defense...Willie did it all as well or better than anyone.

  • Wow, TO SAY RUTH WAS THE MOST COMPLETE PLAYER IS OUTRAGEOUS!, ESPECIALLY DO TO THE FACT THE NOBODY,NOBODY HAS EQUALLED MAYS IN POWER, FIELDING, HITTING, AND RUNNING....EVER!!!!!!

  • Here is another Willie Mays song by the Treniers.

  • fuck babe ruth, willie mays is the king of baseball.

  • How does it feel to get shit on by a 'special ed person'? hehehe ;D

  • Willie mays, the greatest baseball player of all-time, no contest!

  • dude babe is not the best he didnt even get 3000 hits

  • @wilzusuki retard

  • @wilzusuki

Well Babe may have not gotten 3,000 hits, but he hit 54 more homeruns than him. His career batting average is .40 points higher than Mays, and also had more RBI's, better .ops and slugging percentage than willie, so not getting 3000 hits doesn't matter. Mays was a better fielder than Ruth but not a better player.

  • @ChevyManSS350 You forgot to mention babe ruth's terrible defense.....

  • @SovietCastro

Actually no I did not. That was actually the last sentence of my response, where I CLEARLY say,"Mays was a better fielder than Ruth but not a better player."

    Learn to read retard.

  • @ChevyManSS350 u forgot to mention babe ruth's terrible defense again..... come on guy.....

  • @SovietCastro

No I did not, read you fucking retard. I put." MAYS WAS A BETTER FIELDER BUT NOT A BETTER PLAYER."

Here let me say it again, WILLIE MAYS WAS A BETTER FIELDER BUT NOT A BETTER PLAYER. One more time, WILLIE MAYS WAS A BETTER FIELDER BUT NOT A BETTER PLAYER. One more time you ask? WILLIE MAYS WAS A BETTER FIELDER NOT A BETTER PLAYER. There you go you dumbfuck for the third time.

  • @ChevyManSS350 Yeah but u forgot to mention ruth did not play with/against any black people and u forgot to mention that ruth was a terrible fielder. Just admit you're wrong and i'll stop. ;D

  • @SovietCastro

What in the fuck does ruth not playing with black people have to do with anything? I think you are a fucking retard. I think you keep forgetting to read in the last two comments where I put them in caps letters where I say Mays was a better fielder than Ruth. So I think you just keep forgetting to read that, I am not going to say it one more time, I have said it numerous amounts of times about Ruth's defense was not as nearly as good as Mays. Your a fucking idot. I win

  • @ChevyManSS350 #1 ruth never played against black people. #2 u still have yet to say that ruth was a terrible fielder, i mean it was embarrassing. #3 im sorry for pooping on you so bad. #4 what is your social security number? ; D #5 i think im in love with you. #6 u just got griefed.

  • @SovietCastro

Ok I am done, this is like arguing with a special ed. person. Have a nice life.

  • @ChevyManSS350 Yes,Ruth would have been an iconic player in any era. Still, though, not playing against blacks was a major deal.

  • @billchew450

Not really, great players could hit anyone regardless of race.

  • @ChevyManSS350

Even Babe Ruth would have told you that he had a huge advantage having a 296 right field fence and not playing against half of the best ballplayers in America.

He would also have told you that Mays was the best ever, and that you should take a pill before you explode.

  • @ChevyManSS350 I hope you get a nap. A long one. You certainly need one.

Oh, and Willie Mays just caught your computer at the Center Field fence.

After he hit it there himself.

  • @wilzusuki You still can't say Babe wasn't one of the all-time greats.

  • @wilzusuki Dont forget, it was back when they had shorter seasons and such too. If they had the same game structure they did now, he probably would have passed that easily.

  • I've got to say it...Willie Mays was the most complete player to ever play major league baseball. He did it all. (Thanks for posting that song!)

  • @BloggerToo

I would have to say that babe Ruth was the most complete player, because he was both a great hitter and a great pitcher. Almost nobody has duplicated that.

  • @RaananVolesPianist You really DO have a point. After all, Ruth could've made the Baseball Hall of Fame even if he didn't agree to switch from pitching to being a full-time outfielder. (And besides, the Babe was the biggest reason millions of Americans in the 1920s and 1930s started following baseball to begin with!) Only reason I had Ruth in second place was that he wasn't much of a basestealer (123 in 2,503 games; Mays had 338 in 2,992 games).

  • The second greatestplayer of all-time behind the babe and in front of ty cobb

  • @Ryandaez come on man are you serious? Willie Mays was a 5 tool guy. Babe Ruth could barely run around the bases.

  • best all around baseball player of all time

  • Greatest player of my time. Hope he throws out 1st pitch tonight

  • Great man - great tune

  • Say Hey babay!!! We love u Willie.....

  • willie mays > everybody else :D

  • On the short list for Greatest Player Ever, and this is probably the greatest song any ballplayer ever had. It's 1954, and you can hear the Big Band Era turn into the Rock and Roll Era right before your very ears.

  • imagine if he didnt have all the things that shortened his career Barry Bonds might to have been chasing his own godfather for the all-time homerun record

  • Proud to say he's an Alabama boy!!

  • Great Track !!!!!!

  • NEXT TIEME I GOING TO HIT A GRAND SLAM!!!!!!!!!!

  • simply stated--the greatest all-round player of all time, hands down
