I never liked how Bret would hold his opponents feet before slapping on the sharpshooter and look around at the crowd. I know he's just playing the crowd and I know it's all a work, but Bret was always a big advocate of "don't do in the ring what you wouldn't do in a real fight."

It doesn't make sense for him to hold his opponents feet for 10 seconds while the guy on the floor puts his hands up and begs.

Just slap the thing on....that's what Jake Roberts would do.

@StuUngar I guess you're right, but if you look at it from another perspective, the whole move is something you wouldn't (or actually couldn't) do in a real fight, it's impossible to lock the move unless your opponent wants you to.

Even a quick search of wiki, not saying wiki's an accredited source, shows bret being one of the best draws of all time and probably the best international draw. Third best? Heyyo, I let me 5 year old daughter put the sharpshooter on me and had to THREATEN HER to release it 'cause she didn't know how much it hurted...'til I put it on her, lol. when I turned her over she said DADDY THAT'S ENOUGH!!! This was a great match but a horrible ending. I mean, come on! I don't care if Triple H was part of DX or not at the time. You just don't do what they did at the end of the match and make him look like crap. He goes after Chyna for interfering, and then WHAM, a superkick to the face from that pansy Shawn Michaels. I mean wtf? Why couldn't they just let Hart dominate and make triple h tap out? fuckin bookers.
