Sakic was a superstar in the regular season but was one of those exceptional few who became even better in the playoffs. Forsberg and Sakic are known as 2 of the greatest playoff performers of all time... but did anyone notice Sakic won the Cup in 01 without Forsberg and Forsberg never went anywhere in the playoffs after being traded away from Colorado (or in other words, being traded away from Joe Sakic?)

He almost became soccer player, he started to play hockey when he was 13! It's not unusual for born and raised Croatian. I wish he come to Medvescak Zagreb game to open it. They got many ex-NHL and AHL players like Jamie Rivers, Joel Prpic, Jeff Heerema (Staals' cousin), Donald McLean, Aaron Fox, Ryan Kinasewich, Brad Smyth, Andy Delmore and Geoff Waugh. Zagreb's last season head coach was Ted Sator, he was also head coach of NY Rangers and Buffalo Sabres in 90s. GO AVS! Support from Croatia!
