Even if abortions are done for social reasons, are you implying a pregnancy is care-free and easy? It's anything but. It's 9 months of gaining weight, giving about 1/3rd of your nutrition to a fetus, a near-constant need to urinate, then in the last months morning sickness, and a near inability to move.

They go "Oh shit, I'm pregnant, I don't want a kid, I need an abortion." No one WANTS one. No one wants to get one, they take it as it's the only way out of the situation they're in.

Sexual reproduction is a cycle with no specific start point, a 9th grade text book can provide you with this information. Both sperm and zygote are meant to develop into humans, so my logic still applies. Should masturbation be illegal? since sperm is a potential human life? Or are you being biased to specific stage of life development?

It seems to me you've done quite a bit of studying on this stuff, it's very interesting. The issue on abortion is not exactly a matter of wanting to live a life with no consequences, it is more an issue of when life is formed. @12Annuanki12; Well, one cause is natural increases in the wages/incomes of people giving them more money to spend. When people spend more money, companies are able to jack up prices, reducing and negating the new increase in spending power. It works in the opposite direction as well.
Also, government overprinting of money causes inflation, as do taxes and tariffs in a way. Someone told me trade deficits and international debt can cause inflation but I'm still fuzzy on that particular effect.

With regard to abortion:
- The fifth amendment does indeed go into depth about human rites HOWEVER you havnt established that a fertilized egg is entitled to human rites.
- The declaration of independence does indeed say we are all created equal and endowed by rites from a creator HOWEVER we infact arise from a sperm and egg pair and you havnt provided any objective basis for claiming a fertilized egg is entitled to rites but the individual sperm isnt.

The founder of NARAL admitted that he falsified his data with regard to back alley abortions. Look up Bernard Nathanson. Former medical director of Planned Parenthood Dr. Mary Calderone described, in a 1960 American Journal of Health article, a 1958 study which showed that 84% to 87% of all illegal abortions were performed by licensed physicians.
So perhaps you ought to do a little research yourself?

The vast majority of abortions are for economic and social reasons, not medical reasons. And there is plenty of help out there for women in desperate situations.
Also, if a fetus is the equivalent of a tumor, why wouldn't women want to get abortions? Why would it be the last resort as you claim?

Even if abortions are done for social reasons, are you implying a pregnancy is care-free and easy? It's anything but. It's 9 months of gaining weight, giving about 1/3rd of your nutrition to a fetus, a near-constant need to urinate, then in the last months morning sickness, and a near inability to move.

The post that I originally responded to claimed that outlawing abortion would not deter abortions, but would rather drive women to seek abortions from unlicensed doctors. So I rebutted with data that shows that the vast majority of illegal abortions pre-Roe were done by licensed doctors. It is directly on point.

They go "Oh shit, I'm pregnant, I don't want a kid, I need an abortion." No one WANTS one. They get one because they're pregnant by mistake or keeping the pregnancy will kill them, so they're forced to end it. No one wants to get one, they take it as it's the only way out of the situation they're in.

I don't understand exactly what you're trying to prove with it, other than perhaps I worded it badly. Sexual reproduction is a cycle with no specific start point, a 9th grade text book can provide you with this information. Both sperm and zygote are meant to develop into humans, so my logic still applies. Should masturbation be illegal? since sperm is a potential human life? Or are you being biased to specific stage of life development?

Sperm is incomplete. It's a separate entity, and one half of the building blocks needed to make a person. Not so with a zygote. A sperm is pure potential and will only become a complete human with interference. For a zygote, the opposite is true.

A fetus does not have all the fully formed features that a baby that is born does, hence them being distinct. The topic about rape that I brought up was to illustrate that a women doesn't have to give birth if she is a victim of rape. So a woman has no say in the matter? Condoms are better (NOT PERFECT) at lowering births and the spread of diseases, but they don't address the prosmiscuity that runs rampid in our country.

Great idea, take away abortions. Many people don't think about the consequences that comes with such a delicate issue. Do you think abortions will suddenly stop by making it illegal?
This would result in underground abortion clinics, unlicensed doctors, or how about finding a dead fetus in public trash containers.
I hate that abortions have to happen, but I also would not like my son to find a dead fetus in a public trash can. Again, you have to think of the consequences.

Actually it could be a couple of things. You could watch Bill, simply hate Bill with zero knowledge of what you're talking about or you could hear about Bill from pro-Bill people and check out clips of his show on Youtube. Either way it doesn't take a genius to figure out that he's full of shit and only pandering to the crowd for ratings. He uses social division to make money, plain and simple. Sheep fall into the trap and argue and debate and tune in to see what other BS he has cooked up.

I personally think that some of the ideas you brought up are over simplified wile some are well thought out. The issue on abortion is not exactly a matter of wanting to live a life with no consequences, it is more an issue of when life is formed. Many Conservatives believe in the idea that life begins at contraception, while others do not. Most people do not like the idea of murder. The point that is just a blob i believe is true, until the baby is born i believe it not living.

That WAS a good pro life argument. Though I'm currently in the middle about it. I'd say that steered me a couple clicks toward the pro life view. I personally see it as an issue to be tackled socially rather than through legislation. And decided between yourself and your "spiritual counselor" whether it be a priest, pastor, bishop, or other, rather than by some provision in a law... He does raise a good point

You really need to study a little economics before you tell people what will or will not happen. Let's look for an example at the music industry. People did a reverse tax on them by stealing their music (free downloads). Did they accept the fact they were making less money or did the cost of cd's go from $9.99 to $14.99 as soon as they realized they were making less? Check out the history of music costs before napster, after napster and after the napster lawsuit.

@12Annuanki12; Well, one cause is natural increases in the wages/incomes of people giving them more money to spend. When people spend more money, companies are able to jack up prices, reducing and negating the new increase in spending power. It works in the opposite direction as well.
Also, government overprinting of money causes inflation, as do taxes and tariffs in a way. Someone told me trade deficits and international debt can cause inflation but I'm still fuzzy on that particular effect.
