  • I am one of the two "dislikes" above, but it has nothing to do with Hank Williams, whom I greatly admire, but rather with the fact that the recording is cut off at the end. This abrupt ending ruins the listening experience. Sometimes, if the recording is on an old 78 RPM, and there wasn't room to finish the song, this will happen. In that case the uploader should let us know it is not his(her) fault.

  • where did ole hank get his style from.....f""kin class mate.....

  • According to Don Helms, Hanks Steel guitar player.. The band was on the road driving somewhere between Little Rock, Arkansas and Greenville,Misssissippi Hank wrote this song and he came up with the first line" Today i passed you on the street " and asked the band what would be a good line to add there and Don Helms said" and I smelled your rotten feet" LMAO

  • Think how extraordinary that Hank died while still in his 20s!

  • great love listening to this.

  • ok..now I m gonna lie and die..or shoot myself if I don't...

  • @goldtop68 How did you get on?

  • @BradBrassman I cant stand bein sober..that's how

  • @goldtop68 Oh, I quit everything about twenty years ago, an' dont miss it.

  • When it comes to a Hank. Its always in his TITLES! Hank could write TITLES (like this song),and all other writers would have to take "second fiddle" in coming up with their own ideas. It was always impossible (even in his day) to rise above him or duplicate his simplicity and his genius. There will never be another Hank to nail a song or a title in the way that he did. Those titles have already been taken by him, Who hasn't grown up (myself included) pickin' and singin' a "Hank Williams" tune.

  • so simple so beautiful so from the heart this man is a legend and hank 3 carries his legacy on

  • haha his singing expresses it so well , but try explaining that to your ex with just words.

  • I think i'll give my husband a big kiss n tell him how much I love him when he gets home. I LOVE this music!!!

  • 60 years after his unscheduled death.. Hanks music still sells and still is changing lives.... One day Hank I'll see ya perform

  • Now thats what you call country music! This is my favorite song by Hank.

  • If Hank Sr. was alive he would be so proud to know his music has touched all of us.

  • Somebody else stood by your side.. And he looked so satisfied... Oh man I want to fight that guy...

  • He could make the devil cry.

  • perty cool jam

  • This is one of the greatest song ever!!! IMHO

  • Hank williams was a great singer. i am 17 yrs old and i was raised up on listening to him sing. i am hoping to one day become a country singer and bring back some of hank's music. my dad and i recently recorded the song I Saw the Light in may 2010 as a cover version if you will. here is the video i just created last night, 7 March 2011, just type in I Saw the Light (cover) by The Ainsworths

i do hope that you all listen to it & if you would, spread it around to other hank fans as well. thanks

  • the fucking best......the fucking best.......

  • This was when Country was Country!

  • What a genius !!!!

  • this song was written by HANK WILLIAMS & HANK WILLIAMS alone......

  • this is an awsome song..

  • This was my father's favorite song by, yeah from an okie, before it was cool. He really loved his music, thank God, I grew up listening to all of his music. If only today, they would liten to all of this, the country would simply be a much better place to live. It's universal soul.

  • This was the greatest song ever sung, period. This was the greatest love song ever written, period. If you don't know, you have no soul.

  • This song was written by Junior Giscombe and Bob Carter,

Hank William's version sounds sincere and honest as he sings this song, I think that's why it is the best version..

  • These song's Remind Me of My GRAM!!! as if i need any one or thing to remind me of Her, But he was he Favorite Singer. how I MISS Her

  • I agree this is a great song, the lyric stands alone but the music is also great for a three chord song - Hank stands as the greatest.

  • Thanks Cimasiello00, if only they would here all of his music, the greatest, not even a close second. This song is my favorite, and by him.

  • who done it better? what can be said about hank williams that hasnt been said. ty for posting

  • The best songs written in the last one hundred years were written by this man. If you know what genius is, then you understand the difference between this and everything else. If you don't, then let me tell you, this is it.
