  • How is it one careless match can start a forest fire, but it takes a whole box to start a campfire?

  • Easier 2 step guide here

    1 Pour gasoline over logs

    2 light em up.

  • or you could just watch man vs wild

  • it about time i learn :^P

  • good job :-)

  • wait i went scout camping and made the fire stay lighted when the rain was comming down heavy

  • @celtic4everscot nice. how did you do that?

  • @synal lots of wood we tryed to dry it out alot aswell

  • must the wood be firewood?

  • Petrol and throw a match at it XD

  • your kindling is in your tepee which is in your box of main fuel. Inferno.....

  • Step 1:Dig down Until You find Iron and Tinder.

Step 2:Put it in the furnance and pick the iron ore

    Step 3:Make Steel And Tinder

Step 4:Burn a piece of wood.

    Done!

  • how to make a fire step 1 put wood in a place step 2 cover it in gasoline step 3 drop a match

  • Hi

    For a good chuckle

Read the right up listen to and have a look at (search YOUTUBE) for

    remushowl

    or

    strangest people camping Wales

    Cheers

    Richard (mad axeman)

  • i m using a flamethrower

  • let me see if i got that u need rocks wood n a shovel u dig a pit n surround it with wood than you throw rock in the middle n lit it. mmm dont sound right but if you say so.

  • lol they should call this how to make a camp fire for dummies lol i love this video it helped out a lot

  • 0:12 that's what she said

  • Simpler version: Step 1, pile some wooden shit up, Step 2, light it on FIREEE!!

  • why not just put some firewood there then add some gasoline much faster

  • when i camp we light fires at night

  • thanks! :D I will try this in my local park :3

  • Ya cuz people will watch this in the woods

  • lol, step 13, step 14, step 255, step 304 wtf

  • If you think making a campfire is very complex, then you really really, shouldnt do it! go back to the city.

  • da fuck is this?

  • step 15: add some gasoline

  • LOL If your using freaking matches or lighters you are NOT camping

  • dont tell me something that i already know! only people thats retarded dont know how to make a fire.

  • Uhh, i was sorta hoping how to build a campfire without a light or match, u know, like being lost or stranded :|

  • i got confused and built the fire around me...thanks alot for a confusing video

  • 14 steps....

  • @cyberbadger Ok smart guy. If you want a bigger idea of how to build a fire just get Howcast to make a on hour video or join the Scouts! Stop complaining about the fineprint!

  • hmm...normal person fire= 14 steps ....pyro fire= 3 steps....1-gas 2-lighter 3-able to run like hell

  • If i have wood and a lighter everything else is pretty self explanitory -_-

  • WHAAAT?!? why did you use a match? you need to acually START the fire like a caveman would! (haha, would-wood pun...)

  • i know how to easily make a fire using a flint and some cotton or napkins soaked in rubbing alcohol

  • that is great~

  • this is good. i prefer using C-4

  • I love my campfires. Have you ever made one on the ice or snow? They don't spread, but they burn nicely. A teepee is helpful...keeps your back warm as well!

  • My way of starting a fire is with cardboard and highly flamable liquids like gas and camp fule... i works the same but more fun and entertaining....

  • @sk8doug1 LOLOL

  • @sk8doug1 how the hell is gas a liquid, unless you mean gasoline

  • omg ROCKS ARE NEEDED SO THE FIRE DOSENT SPREAD!!LIKE OMG

  • "stones or rocks...." What's the fucking difference?

  • @EnergyDog23 hahah:)

  • wow 14 simple steps.... lol

  • LOL This Is Fucking Nuts!!!

1: What If Your Camping In The Woods ( YOU CAN'T AVOID BRANCHES THEN ASSHOLE!!)

2: Wind?? Are You Serious? If I'm Still In The Woods Where Should The Wind Come From????

  • @PivotSweden

    1. Sorry, no fire for you.

    2. yeah, there's NEVER wind in the forest.

  • @Aran234 эй, говорить на английском языке

  • um why is he making a fire on a hot day

  • @whattadiwhat it keeps bugs away and he'lll be able to cook are purify water to a drinking ability

  • Comment removed

  • Hooray "Rövarkulan" here i come !!!!1

  • Also use newspaper

    Burns like a marshmallow

And is soft against the ass after a s**t

  • u donot need to place it that way this way is eaiseri and fast get some tinder get some sticks and burn them with a peice of paper not so hard lol

  • a galon of gasoline!!

  • stupid explosion hazard! You will be a "flaming alpha" or a human running around on fire.

Wise camper only builds campfire suitable to needs and avoids wasting fuel or attracting predators.

  • @borderraven Well that reall does all depend on what conditions you are camping in. If you are surviving in the woods, then yes, you are right. But if you are just out with your friends and want a 'campfire', this is ideal.

  • Wouldn't it be smart to bring a can of sterno?

  • howcast pwns! expert village is full of retards submitting amateur videos. i can post a video called how to start a fire and show a video of me rubbing 2 sticks together and nothing will happen and its still gonna be posted.

  • when "all" people lived in caves or overhangs this was school. now "most" of things today is just opinons and fluff isnt it.

  • If your "campsite" has pre-made fire pits, you are not camping.

  • Agreed.

  • @patriotfront well said sir!

  • i so FREAKING AGREE I HATE PRE MADE FIRE PITS I HATE THE MEDAL ONES I LOVE ROCK FIRE PITS

  • @patriotfront Yes, clearly the distinction is whether or not you put rocks in a circle....

    You're amazing!

  • It works better if you have a base under the kindleing. Like a board or other fuel.

  • @KingKulltheGreat

I was going to say... Always put a layer of sticks underneath your tinder/kindling.

  • howcast is better and has better understanding than expertvillage

  • i like cheese

  • burnin' that there hedge?

  • what i do is go inside and drink tea

  • the wood should be dead, but still standing, because if it's on the ground, then it will be wet, and rotten.

  • Bloody hell. How much wood do they go through. You'd need half a ton a night and you would have to sit 15 feet away.

  • i rekon aye

  • how cute.

  • Very well done and entertaining as well. Thanks!

  • I agree. It seems to have all the safe and proper instructions that a first timer would need to know.

  • ummmm.....gasoline and a Bic?

  • agreed

  • Using fuel wood along side the start of the fire frustrates me, I prefer to use a single piece of fuel wood in the center or through the middle of the ti pi.

Also the guide should mention to have sand or water handy in case any embers get somewhere they're not supposed to.

  • WTF..no shit i thought she was gonna show you hot to make a fire without wood like with a rock or somthing

  • you can make a fire with shit.

  • LOL

  • mmmmm......fire shit

  • If you want to build a campfire is more simple

    You will need:matshes,lighter

TAKE THE MATCHES OR THE LIGHTER AND... BURN THE FOREST, AND YOU HAVE BUILD A CAMFIRE FOR ALL THE CITY.

  • lol

  • lmao

  • rocks shouldnt be optional

  • probably said that for the pre-made sites.

    but still important.

  • Light a tree on fire and watch the domino effect!

  • this is one thing that everybody should now how to do. and make a point of learning it if they dont

  • This howcast is ok. But they neglect the more important problems that people who are not pyros do not know. 1) How to find appropriate wood/kindling/etc. - "Dry wood" is too basic 2) How to really know when to add or not to add any wood/kindling - Not covered and important and 3) How to achieve different kinds of campfires - What do you want? High flame, high heat, long burning, hot ashes?

I think howcast is trying to give a recipe for something that is very complex.

  • +1 to cyberg\badger.

  • Good call dude

  • @cyberbadger

you don't need to know all that stuff just make it big and let ii BURNNNN!!!

  • @cyberbadger why don't you make a video ?

I bet it would be great and helpful

  • @1b0ya3ga lol i bet he quited youtube by now :)

  • @Dreameatertv lool I guess your right

  • there are way more ways to start the fire( torch, sun, friction and flint)

  • 14th comment

  • ARMATURES...

  • man just use gas

  • what if u dont have gas :P

  • I already knew this :|

  • its alwase fun to build camp fires :D relaxing

  • pretty basic stuff. From what I heard the teepee and the log cabin are 2 different campfire stuctures. They didn't mention a lean-to fire. One other thing they forgot to mention: don't use sandstone rocks for your fire circle!(hint: they blow up)

  • they do ?

now some poor soul is gonna find out the hard way

  • how do you tell if its sandstone?

  • Yeah this is pretty basic.

They should make more detailed, or more unknown things to "Howcast".

  • Meh, I already know all of this, being a boyscout and all

  • you dont need to be a boy scout to know this stuff. iv been doin this stuff since i was 6 :D

  • I know, but we do it a lot, and for a merit badge, I had to make one using limited materials, and use it to keep me warm at night (we were in the middle of the woods. But they had people checking up on us every now and then)

  • hehe i think im 9th

  • Good video, i can't wait to show off my fire making skills next time i go camping XD
