Wow, I really feel for Robert. It never would have occurred to me too wax my face, but I can only imagine how much it must hurt. It's surely way more painful than laser, for which you can at least use a slight numbing cream!
Anyway, it was clearly worth it for the results. I enjoyed seeing the pics on flickr of the wonderful time you 2 had together before the baby.
Overall he was very pleased with doing it and even though it hurt he says he would do it again and definatly recommend to others who are in a similar situation.
It was hard to find someone willing to do the waxing and it does require a very skilled person to do it and with a special wax. He had to phone over 30 places before we found someone that would do it.
The face was hot and angry that day but we had some special cream to take the redness out.
Now that we are back home he is getting regrowth but no problems with ingrowing hairs and the hairs that are growing back are a lot finer and softer than before.
It was a great success not just the cruise but the waxing also. As it let him not have to shave for 12 consecutive days.
My husband has tried laser in the past but has too much red for it to be successful. Electrolosis would not give the quick fix we wanted - but may be the route we go for next year .
He has in past plucked his beard a long painful process - taking him well over 6 hours to do ! So the waxing even though it was painful it was all done in half an hour.
Hi my husband did do a lot of research before doing this as is it not to be taken lightly at all.
In the past with shaving he can go 3 days shaving twice a day in a row before his skin gets so sore and painful.
As we were going on a 12 day cruise we didn't want to only be able to do it half the time as Mary-Jane but to see if we could do the whole trip. In a way it was a trial to see how we both felt with him going full-time which is the plan for next year once our baby is born.
If you want a hair free face laser is the one to get, actually go for IPL intense pulse light but dont think it doesnt hurt, the first few sessions are pure agony, but if you get an up to date machine, it has a very good cooling system which makes the whole thing much less painful, and be ready with lots of money, its much better than electrolosis and you can be hair free in about 9 to 12 months, being a girl hurts like hell,if you manage facial hair, the rest is easy.
umm i dont get it....what about laser???u look lik eyou have had hormones???can u enlighten...should i actually grow a beard to be hairless for a while??

I would love to see more of the before and after -- the during transformation if you have that
How long did they recommend the hair grow before something like that and how long do you need to wait until you can put any makeup on over it?

Hope that answers some of the questions

i did the same, it tool about 3 weeks till the first hairs returned...
So i would prefare a very good wet-shaving much more than this toture, or a laser-removal.
But for Robert...my deepest respect !!! :-)
