Dave Wright was hired away to Boston CBS affiliate WNEV-TV (now WHDH), where he served as male lead anchor from 1986 to 1987. During the 1987-88 TV season, he brought ATV's Live at Five format to WNEV, where they launched a 5pm news hour (the first in Boston) titled "New England News: Live at Five". It was structured exactly the same as on ATV, and it actually did well in Boston. So sad to hear about his recent passing. He had a great screen presence.
It's 1989, as I worked at a radio station who got a dub of the full sing jingle to air during TV ratings. Still have the reel. They also had one for ASN from 89.
Seems so hokey now, only 20 years ago. Shame about Dave. He certainly became a legend in the maritimes.

CKY used the same campaign, as "It's all right here on CKY," during the 1989-90 season.

MCTV had a similar image campaign in the early 90s, and the CBC side continued to use the jingle for a long time after.
